For Joint Worship this morning, Pastor Francis shared about some extraordinary young people - Jack Andraka, Malala Yousafzai, and Claudette Colvin, just to name a few. (Look them up and read about them.) These kids have made a difference in the world. Pastor reminded the students that they all have something that they can use for the glory of God. They don't have to do some huge thing; little things can make an impact too! Each of us have a story to tell - God created the world, He created us, and He loves us so much that He gave His Son to save us!!
We were privileged to have a guest speaker for Remembrance Day. Mrs. Bryce's son-in-law, Geoff, is a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army. He shared some interesting stories from the time he was stationed in Afghanistan. As many of the staff and students wore poppies as a symbol of remembrance, Mme Helene sported a t-shirt honouring the Liberation of Holland. It features an orange tulip with blood trickling down to form a Maple Leaf, representing Canada's involvement in the Liberation. The tulip leaf is made up of Canadian soldiers marching into Holland.
