Let's chat about brushing & flossing - it doesn't need to be complicated! Here's a reminder of what works best: Brush twice a day. Brush for at least two minutes. Don't forget to gently brush your tongue.... Replace your toothbrush after three months, or if you've had a cold. Flossing is a must - otherwise more than a third of your tooth surface is not getting cleaned . Good oral hygiene involves more than a trip to the dentist. Prevent problems like cavities and gum disease with a good dental care routine!

Did you know, 90% of bad breath comes from not brushing your tongue That's because the tongue itself can trap bacteria! So remember to brush your tongue twice daily after you brush your teeth to keep your breath minty fresh.

#WisdomWednesday: You should wait 30 to 60 minutes after eating before you brush your teeth! Brushing any sooner could cause tiny particles of your enamel to be worn away

Tooth sensitivity what you need to know Pain or discomfort when you eat/drink cold, hot, sweet or acidic foods/beverages. Pain or discomfort when brushing or flossing your teeth. Gum recession can leave sections of the tooth exposed and unprotected, causing sensitivity. Cavities, broken teeth, chipped teeth, and worn-down fillings or crowns can leave the dentin of the tooth exposed, causing sensitivity. There are many reasons why you may be experiencing sensitivity. The best way to get to the root of the problem is to schedule a visit with the dentist! Call us at (807) 345-1225 to book an appointment.

We don't bite! One of the best ways to get the most out of your appointment is to ask questions. Here are 5 common ones: How can I improve my smile? This gives your dentist room to provide wide-ranging feedback, specific to your unique situation.... What should my oral hygiene regimen be? This will help you improve your at-home dental care, which is vital to a great smile. How often should I have a dental exam and cleaning? While most people need a dental checkup every 6 months, everyone is different, so it's good to ask what's best for you. Am I brushing or flossing, right? Brushing and flossing may seem like an easy thing to do, but many people still get it wrong. Do I have any dental health conditions I should know about? This question will start a conversation about the current health of your smile, providing insight into how you can improve it. Don't be afraid to talk to your dentist about oral care! Have any questions? Book an appointment with us. (807) 345-1225

Between the sweet treats & drinks, it's not easy to keep up with a healthy routine during the holidays. However there are a few simple steps to keep a good oral health during the holidays: Carol while you clean Tooth brushing should last at least 2 minutes for optimal effect. Pass the time by humming a few verses of your favourite holiday song. Choose the carrots - Cookies and sweets are nice holiday treats, but instead of reaching for another candy cane, take a cue f...rom Rudolph and eat the carrots. Drink water - You need a lot of energy for holiday activities, but avoid drinks high in sugar like sodas, sports drinks and juices. Instead, drink water with fluoride to keep your teeth strong and healthy. Don’t forget the dentist - The holidays can be a busy time, but that doesn’t mean you can forget about your teeth. If you are due for a teeth cleaning or need work done, book an appointment for the new year.

Did you know, most adults brush their teeth incorrectly! For improved #dentalhealth follow these 4 steps: 1 Get the right angle Tilt the brush at a 45-degree angle. 2 Get the motion down Gently move the toothbrush back and forth. Be careful not to be too rough! 3 Cover all surfaces Inside, outside, top, bottom, and everywhere in between.... 4 Don't forget the tongue Lots of bacteria lives on your tongue so make sure to brush them away. Bonus points if you remember to floss

The key to healthy oral habits is to start from a young age! Before your baby has teeth, wipe the gums gently with a clean wet cloth after each feeding. Once the first tooth comes in, start brushing twice a day with a pea-sized amount of toothpaste with no fluoride. As soon as your child’s first tooth appears, it’s time to schedule a dental visit.... Once there's at least two teeth that touch, it's time to start flossing. Limit the amount of snacks to no more than one or two times a day. Tooth decay is preventable when you set a good example!
