It is entirely possible to go for a walk in nature and come back a completely different person *´`..

Summer cottage season is done. This is clearly punctuated by the annual lowering of our lake. Normally, the water is 5’ higher lapping the bottom edge of the dock. This is the lowest we’ve seen it in years... most years it goes down 3 to 4 feet. FYI, all our water feeds down through 3 of Nova Scotia’s many small hydro electric facilities. Green. Green. Green.

I love this time of year at Granite Woods as the ice starts to break up. As spring slowly arrived, the locks are closed allowing the water level to raises back up four feet. Its so cool living here, on the lake, off grid... it just never gets old. And, I think to myself, what a wonderful world.
