Dickson designs turns 6 today time flies when you’re having fun! I was going to write a big sappy post but decided to share some pictures from my first year instead! it’s been quite the ride and I have no regrets excited to see where year 7 takes me!

My next collection is inspired by my great great grandmother Edith Henderson, The Tlingit granny collection when I seen her work in person and in photos what stuck out to me was, her designs were never filled in with beads and I loved this, I’m so used to seeing solid beadwork and it made me want to play with negative space as well. At first it felt alien when I started doing work and purposely not filling my pieces in but I’ve grown to love it and I often wonder what it would have been like to sew with her and learn from her I’m excited to work on more pieces and share with everyone! I’ve been brainstorming some of my upcoming pieces forever and some I’m sure I’ll just come up with while working. I draw my designs with chalk so I can erase and change as I work anyone else?
