2019 harvest is underway at Winston Estate Vineyard with Pinot Gris and Schonberger first out of the gatenext up Ehrenfelser then Riesling

These will be grape clusters. Right now they are developing inflorescences. In a couple weeks during the flowering stage, pollination and fertilization takes place. Vitis vinifera grape vines are hermaphroditic (asexual) with both male stamens and female ovaries so they can self pollinate. The resulting product is a grape berry with 1-4 seeds. Fruit set immediately follows flowering. This a cluster of grapes in the making. It is such an exciting time of the Vine cycle

Great news received from back home in the Okanagan Our Ehrenfelser grapes just earned a Gold Medalat the Okanagan Wine Festival Best of Varietal competition! We sold them to Time Winery/Evolve Cellars and winemaker’s Graham Pierce & Nadine Allander turned them into a stellar white wine which is sold under the Evolve Cellars Elevate label. The wine is made from 100% Winston Estate Vineyard Ehrenfelser grapes! It won Gold in the Best Single White Varieties category and we are over the moon excited to be part of this incredible achievement This was announced at the Awards Gala on May 8th which I missed because I am in the UKwe will be celebrating in the Motherland
