Destroy a Statue, Destroy a Culture Commentary, Culture Wars, Lee Harding October 17, 2020... George Washington. Thomas Jefferson. John A. MacDonald. These men are worthy of remembrance and acknowledgement for their contributions to the great nations of the United States and Canada. Unfortunately, as dead white males, they are also the targets of critical theory, Cultural Marxism, and political correctness. The removal of their statues in recent years, or even weeks, is great cause for concern. A revolutionan insurgency, is at hand. Show me a toppled statue and I will show you a revolution. Recent Asian history is full of examples. The Taliban put its radical mark on Afghanistan in 2001 when it blew up two 1,700-year-old Buddha statuesincluding the world’s tallest at 50 metres. Two years later, America stamped its victory in Iraq by draping an American flag on the face of a large statue of Saddam Hussein in Baghdad. When a crane attached to a tank finally pulled it down, mobs rushed in to pile on top of the statue and desecrate it .Our history-makers have blemishes because they are as human as those who judge them. The story of our flawed founders and these other men and women of impact is also our story. Whether the statue removers, defacers, and destroyers know it or not, they are vandals against western culture itself. They should think again because freedom is fragile. The revolution that tears down the monuments of western history clears the path to an even darker future. Lee Harding is a research associate with the Frontier Centre for Public Policy.

So, if climate activism and solar and wind are such a great idea. Then why are the activists and the Federal Government labelling any questioning or any distributed information that does not agree with their ideology to be Climate Denial or Anti Climate? Is only one opinion allowed? Please become informed. Search for climate information from both activist and accredited scientists. Then please make your own climate decision based upon your research results.... Our question is: Isn’t it time for a responsible climate conversation?

Call for Retraction of University of Alberta Report by Friends of Science Society Press Release September 17, 2020... (Calgary, Alberta) In an open letter to University of Alberta President Bill Flanagan, Friends of Science Society calls for the retraction of a U of A report entitled Assessing Barriers to Renewable Energy Development in Alberta: Evidence from a Survey on Wind Energy with Rural Landowners. Friends of Science Society states that the report, written by students and professors in the Department of Resource Economics and Environmental Sociology and funded by taxpayers through SSHRC, makes false and disparaging remarks about the society whose membership includes many U of A alumni in earth sciences, engineering, and management. Furthermore, the report inaccurately frames Alberta as a laggard in wind energy, when in fact the province was the first jurisdiction in Canada to have a wind farm, dating back to 1993.
