MERCHANDISE! Prior to my health crisis things with this business were getting exciting and I had some beautiful @gardenofedenreusables bread bags stamped with my logo, as well as tanks & t-shirts in white and olive green by @renegadeapparel ! I am happy to share that I do have a limited quantity of these items to sell with my gorgeous logo drawn by @jillianrumseyart ! If you’re interested in purchasing DM me and we can work something out Things are changing all the time. Th...is business was a great experiment and an absolute whirlwind to run. It came about at a time of total uncertainty and provided me an anchor during the toughest months of Covid. I rushed into this when I saw the opportunity but I don’t think I ever anticipated things getting to be so big! I cannot thank @kitcoffeeptbo and all of you enough for the support that’s come my way through this venture. But with everything that’s been happening in my world and the world at large, I feel it’s time to mention, I don’t expect grateful bread to make a full-on come back.. The good news is my bagels will still be available at @kitcoffeeptbo. This Saturday, you can come pick up bagels - pre-bagged in sets of 6, first come first served and as an option for sandwiches in the cafe all throughout the week. Over the next few weeks, I’ll be training the staff at Kit to make them, as well as some of the other items you all came to know and love, and they’ll take over as I transition back into my pre-covid employment! I have every confidence that they will maintain the deliciousness that you have come to know and expect! And if you're ever in need of some sourdough baked goods, feel free to reach out! I'm happy to take on special orders for friends and family :). Thanks for sticking around throughout this adventure! And don’t forget - - - The bread will rise again!

On July 15th Helen McCarthy, owner of KitCoffee Peterborough was in an accident resulting in both of her ankles being severely broken, each requiring emergency surgery. This devastating event will leave Helen wheel-chair bound for upwards of three months as she heals. Helen is a beloved member of the Peterborough community and a loving mother to her beautiful three-year-old daughter Maggie. This tragic accident comes after a previous emergency medical leave where Helen suffer...ed a broken left leg in January. Helen has been successfully managing two locations of KitCoffee despite the difficult circumstances that Covid-19 has created for the local small business community. This new personal crisis is physically, emotionally and financially devastating. Helen is always a strong, independent and positive force in this community, always willing to lend a helping hand to someone in need. Her cafe is a community hub, supporting local farmers, producers and makers with diverse retail offerings from many other small businesses. While we may not be able to mend Helen's physical ailments, we want to ensure she is supported during this difficult time, so that she can spend the time she needs to heal. We are seeking community support to raise money for two specific things: 1. to help pay for wages to keep both KitCoffee locations open full hours, and 2. to help install a wheelchair accessible washroom in Helen's home. Please consider sharing & donating to help Helen through this incredibly difficult time. https://gf.me/u/yg2vpi

This is probably my most photogenic hospital selfie I’ve got... so I thought maybe it’s time for a proper update. I appreciate your patience with me as I figure out what my body needs in this time. I’ve been in hospital since Saturday and am hopefully going to be discharged in the next day or two - but I will not be able to resume my regular schedule of life for a little while. I am effectively putting the business on hold until I’m back to my full self, and I stress that I ...will not be rushing this recovery. Health comes first. If you know me personally you’ve probably already read my story on fb. If not, suffice to say, I’m regaining strength each day but I’m not quite there yet. *If you have paid for an order that has yet to be received please message me directly and I will refund you immediately.* I’ve gotta listen to the doctors and to my body on this one. Wishing you all well and forever grateful for this space where you’ve let me be creative and explore all kinds of new ways to make a business work in the most difficult of times. I’ll be back and better than ever soon enough... don’t forget... The bread will rise again. See more

Very sorry to say that orders this week will not be completed. I’ve been holding off sending out invoices this week as I’ve been dealing with some personal health concerns. Don’t worry! I’ll be back to my naturally upbeat self soon. But unfortunately I do not think I’ll be back at full capacity in time to bake this week. I love you all and appreciate the support you’ve shown this little business so far. I will be sure to honour all orders when I am able to confidently resume all activities. xo Emily

PRE-ORDERS OPEN FOR PICK UP MONDAY JULY 6! A few changes this week! It’s been a fun run so far and I’ve truly been overwhelmed by the support that’s come my way! I am starting to think about how to make this all run a bit smoother, as it’s very important to me that every bagel, loaf, bun & scone I put out is of the highest possible standards. This past week I was a bit rushed and a few things went a little hairy .While you’ve all been super understanding it’s important to ...pay attention to the lessons coming my way! So, we’re gonna slow things down a little this week . If there’s one thing working with sourdough has taught me, it’s that great things require quite a bit of time to come together . With that being said, preorders are open for Monday only this week! This will take care of some of the rush of trying to prep for Tuesday while baking for Monday, and the rush between @kitcoffeeptbo closing and orders being picked up that often takes place on Tuesdays! I may be open a second day of the week through other avenues in the future so keep an eye out for that announcement! Scone flavours change next week so get em while you can! Got any new ideas for me? Feel free to let me know what you’d like to see . I’ve also just received some awesome washable & reusable cotton bags from @gardenofedenreusables in buckhorn which I’ll now be selling so that you can cut down on your plastic waste & help keep your bread fresh longer! Post coming soon Alright that’s enough from me for today! Get those orders in ASAP as quantities are limited ! To order: Send me your order with your name, email & phone number. Payment can be made via e transfer, PayPal or exact cash on pick up!
