Goes on fairly smooth and appears that it will be durable but haven't had it past the curing time to know for sure. My only issue is how much white picket fence paint required to complete project. Needed 3 jars - 3-4 coats ( doesn't go nearly as far as the listed - 75 sq ft per jar ). Not sure what went wrong. Followed prep directions and used recommended brush and roller. Check the gorgeous texture you can create just by using Fusion Mineral Paint ‘Fresco’ !! Here, I used it on wooden boxes that James built for me but, Fresco can be used on virtually any surface! Glass, plastic, clay, furniture (of course) and walls . All you have to do is to mix some into your Fusion’s paint colour of choice (the more you add, the chunkier it gets) and apply it with your brush... don’t be afraid of experimenting with it! Although the write up says it is for raw wood- and I did a test run on the wood I was finishing and loved the result- when I went to actually paint on the raw countertop I was doing I ended up with a blotchy mess! Upon researching more online- I discovered a recommendation on the Fusion site to dilute with mineral sprits before using on raw wood. 5 star review from Elaine Van Volkingburgh: My new furniture paint! Recently refinished this old large, solid wood desk we found in a neighbor's garbage. I stained the legs and drawer but painted the top and sides in Mineral Fusion Ash Gray. The paint, as advertised, goes on very smoothly and a little goes a long way. But I did find that when painting the large top surface area of the desk that the paint dried very quickly leaving streaks. (This was no surprise ...as it was mentioned on Mineral Fusion's website as a possible issue on large surfaces). Initially I used a lint-free microfiber roller but that left lines even though I left a wet edge and put it on as quickly as I could. I then applied a second coat using a good quality, soft bristle wide brush. But that too left streaks. So I decided to use the Mineral Fusion Extender, and that worked beautifully, allowing the paint to dry more slowly eliminating streaking. So I would highly recommend using the Extender when painting a large surface area. I finished the desk with a water-based varathane because I like a satin finish to my projects. The combination of stain and rich Ash Gray paint and a new drawer handle gave this old desk a classy look. Can't wait to paint my dining chairs in Midnight Blue!
