People have good intentions when they say, thank you for your service to soldiers that have served their country. Their intentions are to acknowledge the sacrifice and selfless service that many veterans and service members have made. There is an equally appropriate expression of gratitude for those risking their lives on the front lines of the war against COVID-19. "You treat a disease, you win, you lose. You treat a person, I guarantee you, you'll win, no matter what the outcome." - Patch Adams. To all those in the healthcare industry; the researchers, doctors, nurses and EMT's that are on the front lines tirelessly fighting this virus.. Thank You for Your Service.

A friend texted me last night: What was the highlight of your day? My response: Drinking my morning coffee and watching the puffy snowflakes falling outside. Huh? When did I start noticing the snow? They say when someone loses one of their senses their other senses can become super-heightened. Blind people may hear better; the deaf can have a type of enhanced vision. The noise of my everyday world is getting quieter by the day.... When the distractions of business, sports, school, kids’ activities, and other social commitments are stripped away, what are we left with? Could it possibly be sight? Sight for the seemingly unnoticeable. All those little everyday gifts that tend to go overlooked; now we can see them - and not just see them, but be thankful for them. Someone once said, Gratitude turns what we have into enough. Could we learn to use our heightened sight, like a kind of superpower? Truly change how we are seeing the world around us? Today I’m thankful for things I’d probably never have even noticed if not for the times we find ourselves in: 1. Eggs stocked in the grocery store. 2. A walk around the block for fresh air. 3. The soft sound of our 16-year-old playing guitar in his room. What are you thankful for today? Has your sight improved?
