Yesterday’s conditions were straight up west coast dank! However, that seemed to have little effect on the island athletes of the @ridelikeagirl.ca program. We had our year end staff party in a Rad little riding zone just south of the Comox Valley. We told our staff that we would have a donation bin for the trail system down there and if they could kick in what they could. We also said we would match whatever donation amount was in the bin at the end of the day. The staff kicked in $320 so we matched them and now we present the @ridersofcookcreek with this virtual donation of $640.00. Thank you Riders of Cook Creek!! You guys do... amazing work and everyone who rides there comes away with a smile from ear to ear! Some good words from a great guy! Way to get after it, you got this Mike! You will have the best riding season yet! In January, I reached out to my friend Chad Hendren at @Gravitymtb.ca for help. Looking to increase agility and strength, I asked Chad and his awesome partner CJ Hendren for a customized training program that would whip my ass back into riding shape for summer. It had one caveat: I wouldn’t rely on anyone else or a gym space to train. I’d have to be able to... do it from anywhere alone. Hey, I’m just not a joiner. Together with Gravity MTB’s certified fitness coach Janna Mackenzie-Scott ( @mackenzie_jm_ ), they developed an eight-week strength and conditioning program and it’s now available for the public (link in bio). Before COVID-19 arrived, I was three weeks deep into the program. My back pain had all but disappeared. My lungs were running strong. My gravel grinding was becoming less of a grind and more of a cruise. And then, well, it all fell apart. In my experience, the path to happiness can take unexpected turns, but it usually follows singletrack and it always takes concentrated effort. I began the @GravityMTB.ca program todayagain. From day oneagain. It hurts so good. Wish me luck on the journey back to full shred. See more

We have been so excited to ride bikes at Spring Break with the kids and to launch our mountain bike season for 2020. Although being outside and riding bikes is healthy and seems like the best place to be, it is time for Chad and I and Gravity MTB to do our part to help support and protect our community. Having said th...is, we are going to postpone Spring Break Sessions starting March 23rd. We know this is the best thing to do. We will do everything we can to post a new date for camp. We will be reassessing the first week in April and hopefully have some new dates for camp. All famillies have also been notified by email. Thank you for your understanding and patience.
