We’ve been calving for just over a week and have 21 calves on the ground. The recent snow storms robbed a lot of sleep, that’s calving! Slowly warming up after storms snapped us back to reality, it’s been an unusually kind winter. Have a great week everyone! Cam
Quick cattle move to a clean field with no bush to hide in. The calves will be coming shortly and I like to keep an eye on them in case there’s any problems. I’ll be delivering next week to Portage and Winnipeg, if you’d like to be added please PM me. Have a great day, Cam
We have lambs! It’s been a few sleepless nights but lambing has gone well. Thankful for some warmer weather, means more sleep for me! Delivery Thursday afternoon, if you’re interested, please PM or email me! Thanks... Cam See more
Another refreshing morning, cattle are eagerly anticipating the sun to rise a bit more so they can absorb some solar heat. Colder this morning, much less wind, much more comfortable. Delivery to Portage and Winnipeg on Wednesday, last chance to get added. Thanks,... Cam See more
Another beautiful day to feed cows! I’m planning a delivery to Winnipeg, early to mid week next week, if you’d like to place an order, please PM me. Stay warm and have a great day! Cam
Bit of a brisk morning this morning, beautiful out other than the frost. Cows are a bit frosty but will soak up some solar shortly. I’ll be delivering to Winnipeg this week, if anyone wants to be added, please PM or email me! Thanks,... Cam See more
Good morning from Graze! Couple of quick pics of our new frost free stock tank setup. It allows the cows access to fresh water 24/7, allows more time for other projects, less time pumping water. Insulated tank, lid, with 4 drinking tubes, an automatic float connected to a bilge pump from an old repurposed ice fishing shack which now contains our solar power to pump. Hope everyone has a great Saturday! Cam
The morning after a pretty good blizzard, cows did alright, tough old girls if they have lots to eat and wind break. I drove home in it last night, it was definitely ugly. Have a great Christmas! Cam
Cows are back bale grazing this winter which makes my heart happy! Fertilizer on the field where it belongs and tractors parked in the shed...where they belong. About 12-14 days worth of feed is put out with windbreaks set up in the center to provide protection from all directions, once the clean up, another 2 weeks worth is put out on a new area of the hay field, windbreaks are moved and it all repeats. Right now they are watered twice a day from a dugout, currently working ...on building a frost free tank that refills automatically with a solar pump. Pictures will follow...unless it’s an epic fail! Deliveries have been busy this fall/ early winter, back in for Tues afternoon. If you’d like to be added to this delivery, PM or email me. This is probably the last trip before Christmas. Have a happy holiday season everyone! Cam
View from my office as I water cows! Life is good.
What a November it has been! Cows and calves have access to plenty of hay yet most choose to keep grazing! Makes my heart happy! I should be into Winnipeg in the very near future. Unfortunately a deer committed suicide on the front of my pickup and it’s chewing up some time getting it sorted. Hopefully early next week. Have a great TGIF,... Cam
Short video of the cows coming for water, they get watered twice a day, all pumped out of a deep dugout that was purpose built for winter watering. Remote watering allows me to bale graze (feed hay on hay fields) keeping valuable nutrients where they are needed with much less expense and nutrient loss than feeding in a winter lot. We’re still processing beef, running low though, demand has been incredible this year. Despite more than doubling pork production, we’re almost sol...d out of halves, still plenty of cuts available but don’t expect them to last long. Last two lambs of the year have been processed, only 1/2 a lamb left over. Demand is definitely growing. Orders have been going into Winnipeg and Portage steady, anticipating a slow down shortly. If you’re looking for grass fed products, now is the time to order. Stay safe, Cam
