We are almost at our goal of $10,000. Logan tells us what he loves about GL.
Wow! The response to #GivingTuesdayCA has been amazing. We are half way to our goal of $10,000. Thank you to everyone who has donated and to those who are considering making a donation. Every gift helps in our mission to equip students to seek, serve and become like Christ! To make a donation go to: bit.ly/GLCHSGivingTuesday
Today is Giving Tuesday! :)
#GivingTuesdayCA is tomorrow. We are excited for the potential of this fundraising campaign; especially in a year with unexpected expenses due to the pandemic. Please consider making a donation by visiting: bit.ly/GLCHSGivingTuesday
Things look a bit different this year as the pics attest. Annual events are also affected, but it isn't all bad news... Bad news: no Partnership Dinner (one of... our biggest annual fundraising events) this year. :( Good News: an Annual General Meeting livestream event that is, for the first time, open to a limitless online audience! :) Join us at our virtual AGM for a look back at 2019-2020 and a look forward to 2020-2021. This Saturday, September 26 at 3:00 p.m. on the Great Lakes Christian High School YouTube channel. Message if you would like more information. Hope to "see you" Saturday!
We are sad to share the news of the passing of a faithful servant and dear brother in Christ, Don Whitfield. Don graduated from the Commercial Program at GLCC in 1958 and worked in the office during the 1959-1960 school year. He returned and served as Director of Development for ten years in the 1970s and 1980s. Don and Vilma's (married 1960 until her death in 2001), two children Julie Woodhouse and Jim (who has served as the school's Business Manager since 2005) and their... five grandchildren are GL alumni. Married since 2002, Don and Helen have been active and beloved members of the Beamsville Church of Christ and Heritage Village in Vineland, Ontario. Although the word gregarious was not created specifically for him, it fits our memory of Don like a well-tailored suit. Whether he served a church, raised funds for charity, or just met you in the street, he had the ability to make you feel instantly welcome, safe, and important. A renowned, comical story-teller who could make anyone laugh, the Don we remember fondly is no longer limited by his earthly tent and, we like to imagine, he is entertaining angels. We mourn with family and friends his passing, but we celebrate his rich life, rejoice that he is with his Father, and look forward to seeing him again one day. https://tallmanfuneralhomes.ca//Donald-Whitf/obituary.html See more
