Huacachina is a tiny desert haven located just west of the city of Ica in Southwestern Peru. This little village surrounds a body of green waters called Huacachina Lagoon. Framed by palm trees, the water and mud from the area are said to be therapeutic. A stroll around the shore of the lagoon will lead you to some bars and clubs. There are also some dune buggies aka beach buggies scattered around the sand dunes. The lagoon was quite a hit to the people of Lima up until the 19...50s. The years passed and it was more or less abandoned. It wasn’t until the 1990s when this tiny village caught the attention of visionary people and businessman. They decided to recreate it and it’s now made it to the list of tourism hot spots in Peru. Who’s not familiar with a poncho? It’s the typical dress of Peru. It’s been around for a very long time, even before the Incas. The word poncho was derived from the Quechua word Punchu. It’s described as a simple design coat. A rectangular piece of thick fabric with a hole in the center for the head. The cloth is dropped onto the body. Since it doesn’t need sleeves, you can move your hands freely inside the poncho. The Alpaca fiber is the best material to use to make ponchos.... The Alpaca fiber itself plays a significant role in Peruvian history. Are you ready to pack your things? Llamas and alpacas are found in Peru and Bolivia. Both are used by humans primarily for transportation and fleece production for thousands of years. These animals belong to the camel family, Camelidae. The llamas and alpacas complete the lamoid species, the other two being vicuña and guanaco, their wild cousins. Llamas and alpacas are often confused for the other but if you look closely, they differ in some ways. The most distinctive characteristics would be their size, thei...r hair, and their face shapes.
