Based in Radisson, Saskatchewan, retired broadcaster Dennis Rimmer says he just hit 98 and is aiming for at least 100! 100 years? No. 100 special episodes of his unique podcast, which is called Talking Books and Stuff the podcast that talks about books and writing and stuff like that. Since his first few episodes were released to the universe back in the spring of 2019, host Dennis Rimmer has, to date, aired 98 separate interviews with creators from around the world, and many from here in Saskatchewan. Those guests with Saskatchewan connections include authors such as Anthony Bidulka, JC Paulson, Amy Jo Ehman, Jenn Sharp, Alan Bradley, and Bill Waiser. But wait there's more! Over the past 98 episodes, other guests have been sports figures Clint Malarchuk, Kelly Hrudey, and Theo Fleury; musicians David Clayton Thomas, Tommy John Ehman, Bif Naked, Murray McLauchlan, Kim Mitchell, Jay Semko, and Valdy. Comedians Bryan Cox and Steve Bluestein have been guests on Talking Books and Stuff, along with poets, bloggers, photographers, and successful entrepreneurs Maureen Haddock and Judah Tyreman. Who will be guest number 100? Tune in to Talking Books and Stuff beginning April 9th to learn the answer. As well, Rimmer reports that the podcast has recently topped the 100,000 mark for unique downloads, which is certainly cause for celebration in this or any other universe. Rimmer retired from broadcasting in 2000 after a successful career in both Canada and the USA.
