We’re hosting a VIRTUAL GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING, in conjunction with its monthly Board of Directors meeting on Wednesday, May 19th, 20201 at 12:00 pm. All members of the Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce are invited and welcome to attend this meeting virtually via Zoom. In addition to its Annual General Meeting, the chamber will host three General Membership Meetings throughout its fiscal year. Members’ are invited to attend General Membership Meetings to observe the b...usiness conducted by the Board of Directors. Members are not permitted to actively participate in the proceedings, join any discussions, or to vote on any motions. They are there in an observer status only. We have a TON of talent in this House, and as we can't see you in our Dining Rooms for the foreseeable future, we're eager to earn an important place often in Your Home, at Your Dinner Table. And with 3 professional kitchens under one roof, we have options to serve you so many ways! For starters, we'd long thought that we should create a chamber in our Durham Social that's almost entirely Dessert-centric...a place/space where you could hang with friends or Family after dinner - or even as a standalone destination for drinks with a wide variety of desserts. Well...that's neither here nor there at this point of social distancing and isolation (but we'd LOVE to hear from you on that idea...do you feel the Durham Social would benefit greatly with the addition of a concept like this?). BUUUUUT... it has us thinking of the wonders we could pull off as a DESSERT Takeout and Delivery Service concept with a plethora of (like, MANY!) delicious. tantalizing, colourful, mouthwatering desserts of many kinds available and just a phone call away. The Government of Canada is making available an additional $500 million in support from the Regional Relief and Recovery Fund (RRRF) for small businesses suffering from COVID-related losses. At the same time, the Government has committed to making at least 25% of those funds available to the struggling tourism sector. This expanded RRRF funding is similar to that offered under additional support through the Canada Emergency Business Account (CEBA). It is intended for busines...ses that do not qualify for CEBA funding. The Government of Canada has been supporting businesses and protecting jobs since the pandemic began, and will continue to do so for as long as it takes. This additional financial support is available, if your business has sustained COVID-related losses since April 1, 2020, or anticipate losses up until March 31, 2021.
