Hey Greater Victoria VicPD need your help in identifying this suspect. See their release below... 20-37766 Victoria, BC Investigators are asking for your help in identifying a man after a break and enter to an underground parkade in which the suspect stole approximately $2,000 worth of property. On Saturday, September 19th, officers received a report of a break and enter to an underground parkade which had occurred overnight. The victim reported that their vehicle, which was parked in the underground parkade, was broken into, along with their storage locker. The suspect stole approximately $2,000 in property including cycling gear, bicycle wheels, tools, and other items. A video of the suspect entering and exiting the parkade is available below. The video shows the suspect following a vehicle into the underground parkade. This is a method of entry commonly used by property criminals. The suspect is described as a 30 to 40-year-old Caucasian man standing approximately five feet, ten inches tall, with a slim build. The suspect wore a dark hooded sweater, toque, and dark pants with reflective markings on the lower leg. The suspect carried a black and yellow backpack. Break and enters to underground parkades have risen 40 percent in 2020 for the time period of January 1st to September 14th compared to 2019. In 2019 there were 137 underground parkade break and enters for that time period. In 2020 there have been 194 underground parkade break and enters. This file illustrates how thieves target storage lockers and vehicles after entering an underground parkade. Once inside, thieves are focussed on high value items such as bicycles, tech, and tools. There are key steps you can take to protect yourself, your family, and your property. Photograph bikes, important tech and tools, and record serial numbers. Email them to yourself to make for an easy to find record in the event they are stolen. Marking these items with contact information also makes it easy for officers to reach you when they recover your stolen property. Strengthen locks and lighting storage areas. If an item is really high value, it may be safer inside your residence or unit. Never leave valuables inside a vehicle. Make your property friendly but clearly private with short hedges, plants, fences and lights. If you see someone suspicious in your underground parkade, call your local Police non-emergency telephone number. If you have information about this incident, or recognize this suspect and you want to remain anonymous, click the ‘Contact Us’ button above. You may also call 1-800-222-8477 or submit a tip online at www.victoriacrimestoppers.ca https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1RVTGsvApeI&feature=youtu.be

Dear Suspect, When you decided to steal the scooter in the picture you probably didn't realise that this was the only mode of transport our victim had available to them. However you would have realised that stealing something that doesn't belong to you is wrong and is called theft. Fabulous followers here is the back story to this appalling crime. The scooter was being stored in a parking lot in the 400 block of Craigflower Road and was safely tucked away out of sight or so o...ur victim thought....... The bike has an expired insurance decal from the 5th August (The owner was saving up to renew it) it also has an action Motor (@TheMotorcycleGuys) sticker on the front of it. There has been a sighting of a similar bike that has been painted blue and it is thought it could be the stolen one. The bike had not been paid off yet so the victim is now making monthly payments on something they can no longer ride, could this story get any sadder? So if you see this mean machine with an even meaner rider on it whizzing round the streets of Victoria, or you know who has it and its current location, please let the police know or us anonymously. Call 1-800-222-8477 or submit a tip online. F/N 20-37837 See more

Followers if you witnessed this crime or know who is behind it you can tell us anonymously, you will never have to go to court and your identity will never be revealed.(Unlike the suspects when you tell us who they are!) Dear Suspect On the day that these pictures were taken, you were cruising around the mall (while no stores were open we should mention) and decided that you’d stop by a cell phone store kiosk and have a looksee of what nice products they carried. You carried on your way after your close inspection of the merch and that was the end of the story..OH WAIT! It wasn’t the end of the story. ... You only left to put on your disguise, which consisted of a white tank top over your shirt you are seen wearing in the pictures. Now we couldn’t be fooled by your disguise and our amazing followers aren’t going to be either, which is why you need to be worried. We are going to have someone anonymously tell us your name and the next thing you’ll be looking at, is the Police. See you soon. With the increased incidents of discarded needles being found in the Greater Victoria Area, Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers would like to offer some advice on what to do if you find one. If a discarded needle is found in a public area, please contact your local Public Works Department and advise them its location. If found on private property, please follow these instructions:... o Use a pair of tongs, pliers or tweezers to pick up the needle. It is best to wear rubber gloves. o Pick the needle up by pointing the needle tip down and away from you. o Put the needle in a container that has been placed on a stable surface. A sharps container, bleach container, or plastic peanut butter jar work well. You should not use a glass jar, light plastic container, or a milk carton, as they could break or needles could poke through. o Do not try to put the cap back on the needle. o Wash your hands with soap and warm water. o Take the container to a pharmacy If you feel that the circumstances of the discarded needle are suspicious, please call you local Police non-emergency line. For more information on dealing with a discarded needle, please visit https://solidvictoria.org/outreach/if-you-find-a-needle/ To report any crime anonymously, please click the 'Contact Us' button above, or call us at 1-800-222-8477.
