As the Manager of Health Canada’s National Radon Education and Awareness Program, I speak with Canadians from all over about how radon has impacted their lives and I often hear the words above. Unfortunately, I talk to too many people who have lung cancer, or lost a family member to lung cancer, who never smoked or quit a long time ago. They didn’t know about radon or thought it wa...sn’t an issue for them. What started out as an interesting job as a public servant doing something that could help improve the health of Canadians, quickly became something more. As I spoke with more and more Canadians about how radon has impacted their lives, this job has become a passion, a hope and conviction that together we can make a difference.
