Dear valued supporters of Greek Fest, We wanted to give you an update on what we did today to make things better going forward at Greek Fest! We have fixed the computer ordering system database and installed a redundant system that we can switch to if we have problems ever again printing our prep tickets. We also have created one more failsafe system where we can fall back on to get orders via our email system if both order systems happen to fail at the same time. We have als...o reorganized our order lines so that we use more of the Commonwealth Place and Greek Community Centre property so we can avoid street congestion. We have also solved a problem that allowed an unlimited number of orders during the order times. They are now properly capped at 50 orders per half hour. Finally we will have more people checking our patrons in when they arrive and more expediters packaging orders. With all of these updates, we expect the wait to be on average 15 minutes from arrival to when people are leaving with their hot and fresh Greek Fest food! Minimum wait time should be 5 mins and maximum should be no more than 30 mins. Thank you all for your patience as we fine tune this brand new system that we have put in place to make Greek Fest possible this year. Dear valued supporters of Greek Fest, Tonight we had a system failure of our online order system and the link to our on site system. This failure unfortunately caused a major issue in the timing we were able to fulfill orders not allowing us to print our food preparation tickets properly and quickly. Because of this, the wait for food pickup was unacceptably long. We at Greek Fest always strive to provide the best service and food for our patrons, so this failure is particularly upsetting. With that said, we want to send everyone that was affected by this failure our most sincere apologies and make a commitment to solve this issue so we don’t have problems going forward this weekend.
