Has your tooth had a root canal? If so, it probably needs a crown. Having a root canal means that the nerve and blood supply going to the tooth is cut off and the space where these nerves and blood vessels sat inside the tooth is cleaned out and filled. A tooth without a blood supply becomes dry and brittle which can result in the tooth breaking! Happy Saint Patrick's day everyone! Although St.Patricks Day is a day to celebrate all things Irish it is also an important religious holiday in Ireland. Here's the history lesson!! Enjoy your day folks! St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated annually on March 17, the anniversary of his(St. Patrick's) death in the fifth century. The Irish have observed this day as a religious holiday for over 1,000 years. On St. Patrick’s Day, which falls during the Christian season of Lent, Iris...h families would traditionally attend church in the morning and celebrate in the afternoon. Lenten prohibitions against the consumption of meat were waived and people would dance, drink and feaston the traditional meal of Irish bacon and cabbage. Saint Patrick, who lived during the fifth century, is the patron saint of Ireland and its national apostle. Born in Roman Britain, he was kidnapped and brought to Ireland as a slave at the age of 16. He later escaped, but returned to Ireland and was credited with bringing Christianity to its people. In the centuries following Patrick’s death (believed to have been on March 17, 461), the mythology surrounding his life became ever more ingrained in the Irish culture: Perhaps the most well-known legend of St. Patrick is that he explained the Holy Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) using the three leaves of a native Irish clover, the shamrock.

Green Acres wanted to thank all the wonderful patients who have shown us support since we opened on Aug 28th and we also wanted to do something to support a local restaurant, so we have decided to team up with @nextottawa to give 1 lucky family (feeds up to 10 people) their Christmas dinner this year with all the fixings. All you have to do is pick it up at 3pm on Christmas Day and let the feast begin!! All patients will be entered into our draw which will be held on Monday Dec 14th at 3pm.

This year has been an extremely difficult one for my family, and on the flip side has also seen me open Green Acres; a dream come true in the midst of family heartache and loss.
