As a Doula, I am not medically trained nor do I perform medical tasks. I can’t diagnose anyone with a medical condition and I can’t prescribe anything. I do have a ton of experience and can give support in many ways. I will encourage you to ask your doctor questions and to make sure that you are informed. If you ask me for information about something that I am unsure of, I will reach out to my colleagues and find out as much as I can. I have great resources that I turn to an...d greatly trust in them. I usually keep my opinion away from my business page. I am upfront about how I work and what I will and will not do but I won’t usually try and push my ideals and opinions here. But at this time while we are navigating our way through covid and the vaccines, I am going to post when it comes to what is recommended for pregnant women. This risk of the variants if a pregnant person gets covid, are looking to be far worse than the possible rare side effects of getting the vaccine. Yes there has not been much research on the vaccines and pregnant women but I trust the science around the vaccines and the process it’s gone through. And with what has come out so far, I believe in the recommendations for pregnant women to get the vaccine. Talk to your doctor, ask a nurse. Call 811, read credible evidence and information. Today’s hot topic that almost all of my clients have been asking me about is the covid vaccines and if I recommend them take it or not. Both Alberta Health Services and Saskatchewan Health Authority recommends for pregnant women to get a vaccine and will need a letter from their doctor to receive it. What do I think? First of all, talk to your doctor! Call and make a phone appointment with your family physician or obgyn and ask what they recommend. Write out the questions yo...u have ahead of time and have that discussion. I have been extremely pro vaccine and if you follow my page you will have seen those posts. But I can’t recommend anyone to take it.
