That means living an active, healthy lifestyle as exercise can help decrease stress levels in our day to day routine. Stress is a big, but often times hidden cause of problems we see in people’s mouths. These issues can range from small chips on teeth to major tooth wear caused by grinding. ... Did you know that more than 5 MILLION TEETH every year get knocked out due to injury or an accident? With summer in full effect and more things opening up in #Ottawa we thought it’d be a good idea for you to know what to do if this Dental Emergency happens to you. 1 Pick up the tooth by the crown (side you chew with) and NEVER by the root (longer more slender side)... 2 If dirty, gently rinse it off with WATER ONLY (don’t use soap or other chemicals), and DO NOT DRY it after 3 Place the tooth back in the socket (hole where your tooth fell out) immediately after STEP 2 use your fingers to position it back into the socket and push the tooth in as deep as you can. Bite down and use a mirror or your phone to verify that it’s as close to its natural position before the tooth was knocked out 4 Call your Dentist immediately for assistance and we’ll help you take care of the rest! Ideally you want to be able to see a Dentist within 30-60 minutes as the faster you’re able to get assistance the better chance your tooth has of surviving The most important thing to keep in mind is that you need to keep the tooth moist at all times after it gets knocked out! Safety of course comes first: if you feel uncomfortable with setting your tooth back in place or don’t have anyone to help, you can keep your tooth moist in a container of milk or even your own saliva. The key is to make sure the tooth is completely submerged in the milk or water as you never want the tooth to be dry. While dental implants are a great modern advancement in dental technology, there’s still nothing like biting down into your favourite food with your very own tooth! _______________________________________ If you're in the Ottawa South region and have a #DentalEmergency or are looking for a #Dentist, give us a call at (613) 738-1832

Today, we celebrate our fathers and those who father us through life. To the men who used their strength to serve, their influence to inspire, and their love to empower, we celebrate you. To the fathers who are always there, always available, always by our side, we celebrate you. To the fathers who always answer the call, always show up, always show support, we celebrate you. To the fathers who offer a shoulder, a kick in the butt, and a bad dad-joke, we celebrate you. But, most of all, to the fathers who listen, who hold space, and use their strength to understand, we love and thank you. #HappyFathersDay

Episode 2 of Talking Teeth where we discuss what to expect at your next dental visit and some of the extra precautions we've implemented! A very important thing we didn't get a chance to discuss in the video is that each staff member is required to complete the same COVID-19 screening we are performing on all patients (screening questions and temperature check) before the start of their shift. For a comprehensive list of what we're doing to ensure your safety and the safety o...f our staff please visit our website www.greenborodental.com/covid19 for a detailed outline. https://youtu.be/9zHGmvCw8v0 #dentist #dentistry #dentistryworld #dentistlife #dentistryforchildren #ottawa #ottawadentist
