Dear Valued Clients, On December 21st the provincial government announced a provincewide shutdown starting December 24th. This shutdown will affect non-essential businesses. As veterinary services are considered essential, Greenboro Veterinary Clinic can continue to provide our full range of pet care services with our current protocol. As well, we do not anticipate any shortages of medications or food so stocking up on supplies will not be necessary. We will limit client ...purchases to typical amounts so that we may serve all our clients and pets equally. We recognize that we are in difficult times and ask everyone’s cooperation in working through this situation together. Stay safe, The Greenboro Veterinary Clinic Team

Happy Tuesday everyone! This week we are introducing you to our awesome Registered Veterinary Technician Keri. Keri is our newest RVT, but adds so much to our team. Keri truly is a jack of all trades; from ear cytologies to cystocentesis’, she loves it all. She (like Mel) also loves a good abscess or wound care. She has a passion for honing her technical skills, and truly just adores being around animals all day. Keri is known for being many of our patient’s person; sometim...es hospitalized patients need somebody to be their cheerleader and safe person, and Keri loves being the one to form a special bond with nervous pets. On top of her work with the animals, she also plays an important role as an amazing team member at GVC, because she is always positive and smiling, which uplifts everyone around her; it’s impossible to have a bad day with Keri around. Over the last few weeks we have introduced you to our wonderful, intelligent, talented, and compassionate RVTs. Our clinic would not function without these three wonderful ladies. They do so much more than the things mentioned above, and we just adore them. Please show them some love, and lets spread some appreciation during RVT month!

Happy Friday everyone! In the second week of celebration of our amazing Registered Veterinary Technicians, we want to introduce you to Mel. Mel has worked as an RVT for 15 years, and has been at GVC for 8 of those years. Mel works a lot in the background at GVC and she has a passion for the weird and wonderful aspects of medicine; if there is an abscess or leaking wound to be found, you can be sure Mel will be there loving every minute of it (we think she may be the next Dr.... Pimple Popper of veterinary medicine). Mel also has special interests in dentistry and phlebotomy. Of all our technicians, Mel has the most talent at getting the difficult dental x-ray shots, and is the speediest at taking full dental x-rays. She’s always the one we call for backup on a difficult poke blood draw, and we swear she must be a vampire because she always seems to get it on her first try. She’s also known as the mom of our group, and for good reason; not only is she an amazing mom at home, but she is the rock that holds our team together. She (like many moms out there) keeps all of us from falling apart with her strength, loyalty, and her ability to stay calm in high pressure situations. Thanks for all that you do Mel! See more

Hi Everyone! Did you know that it is registered veterinary technician month in October? Here at Greenboro Veterinary Clinic we have three amazingly talented registered veterinary technicians (RVTs), who have been formally educated and trained and are passionate about providing the highest level of healthcare possible for your pet. RVTs play an extremely integral role in veterinary practices, and in many ways are similar to nurses in human health care. While our RVTs LOVEEEE t...o snuggle your pets, they also hold many other roles in the clinic, such as taking blood for blood work, monitoring anesthesia, placing IV and urinary catheters, running diagnostics like urinalysis and skin cytologies, taking x-rays, assisting in surgeries, cleaning your pets teeth during dental procedures, and demonstrating many skills to owners needed for home-care of sick pets. Over the next few weeks, we will be introducing you to our 3 awesome technicians so you can learn more about our amazing RVTs. This week we will be introducing Rachel!! Rachel has been an RVT for over 25 years.. which is amazing because she’s only 26 years old ;). While Rachel takes on many roles at the clinic, her main passions reside in animal behaviour and microscopy. She is frequently seen rounding on difficult cases with the vets, and offering insight from her previous experiences. Rachel’s depth of experience makes her invaluable when dealing with difficult pets, and she routinely employs fear free practices to make your pets feel comfortable in clinic. Rachel also has a heart of gold, and is one of the most genuinely caring and compassionate people in the world. You can be certain that she will treat every pet in her care as her own, and she always shows compassion for every being around her. Rachel routinely will come into work telling us about the mouse (or bird, spider or turtle) she helped cross the road that day on her way to work, which just truly shows how much she cares about all animals.
