We've been having trouble keeping up to all the screw quote and sizing requests we get on our website, and we're sorry about that. Right now, they all take a tremendous amount of work to respond to, and they take people with a lot of knowledge in order to respond. We are trying to improve the situation by taking advantage of technology. Our internal WaterWatts model is being setup to respond to these requests and produce all the reports people want and need so we can respond quicker to requests and also make it much more efficient for us. Please bear with us.
It's an honor to be a Canadian museum of nature, nature inspiration award finalist again this year

Archimedes Screws are Fish Friendly! It, and the Waterwheel are the least harmful to fish of all the turbine types. The Archimedean Screw and the Waterwheel operate at normal atmospheric pressure while other turbines, for instance the Kaplan, operate by forcing water at high pressure into the system. In addition, the screw turns at a low velocity of approx 28 rpm. This, together with the operation of the turbine under normal atmospheric pressure, enables the safe passage of fish through the system.
This 3D model video displays how the site and screw function as the water course flow increases. It demonstrates how the screw remains shut off until the water hands off flow. Once the screw starts up the hands off flow to the fish ladder and hands off flow over the weir are maintained. As flow increases from here screw RPM increases to accept the greater flow while maintaining the hands off flow over the weir and to the fish ladder. Once the screw reaches its maximum flow capacity the water level over the weir starts to increase thereby increasing the effective hands off flow.
Drone shoot of the stunning Quance Dam in Delhi, Ontario. A former lumber and grist mill founded in 1842 by Henry Sovereen, later sold to the Quance family. Now owned by Norfolk County as a public park area. The dam was rebuilt in 1992 and includes a fish ladder. This project is a partnership of Norfolk County and GreenBug Energy Inc.

This are not photos, they are images produced by our 3D4D modelling process that show what the Quance Dam project will look like when complete. If youre interested in our 3D4D modelling process itself, these images were produced by taking roughly 3000 photos of the project site from all angles to produce a 3D image of the site as it was, and then we inserted our CAD file of the proposed installation into the 3D image and then edited the terrain for any required changes as a result of the installation.
Were very honoured to receive the 2015 Ministers Award for Environmental Excellence.
