Greenfield Elementary School

GES students are such great helpers. Kevin Freeman has also been doing lots of projects around our school. Thanks to their hard work we were able to clean up the property. It looks great! We had some Easter fun at GES. Yesterday we held our Easter treasure hunt and we are so happy we did. Happy Easter!

GES students are utilizing their outdoor classroom. Mrs. Williams had the Grades 3-6 drumming to the beat. We have wonderful outdoor areas to enjoy.

What a great way to spring into March Break with crazy hair and shoe day!

Our kids are learning, practising and loving to skate. Thank you so much to the Greenfield Recreation Association for providing this wonderful outdoor activity. Families have also been utilizing the rink a lot. Greenfield ROCKS!

21st Century Writing By: Grades 3 to 6... Why are students encouraged to dictate their final draft of stories into an iPad, instead of writing them down on a piece of paper? 1. Once a good plan is put together, students can record their story at many other places besides just on a desk at school with a flat surface. You can even dictate a story when you are walking. 2. A person can speak a lot more words per minute than they can print or type in a minute, so stories can be longer. 3. There are hardly ever any spelling mistakes, especially on longer and harder words. This makes editing and revising much easier and faster. 4. You can record many more stories throughout the year than if you had to always use paper. 5. The story is always neat because it is always typed. 6. A digital story can be shared with anyone in the world and it is saved forever for possible use again in the future. 7. It improves a student's ability to speak clearly. 8. Digital stories can have many more photos and pictures included in them. 9. Digital stories save trees.

Our students are getting prepared to deliver lots of goodies to the residents of Hillsview Acres. We want to thank the students for their time and effort in their creations and for the treats. We are sanitizing and passing out our valentines to ensure the safety of everyone. Tomorrow the students will be skating on the outdoor rink!!!
