Hi Greenfield - One of our community members experienced a house fire last night. Fortunately nobody was injured, however the damage to the house/interior is extensive. If you would like to provide some assistance to this family, a neighbour has set up a GOFUNDME page. Just click on the link below. https://www.gofundme.com/.../greenfield-neighbours...... I know this wonderful community will step up - thank you in advance Greenfield!!
On this day, and every day, we stand with our hearts open and in solidarity with the families, survivors and loved ones of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls. The red dresses people hang in windows on May 5 represent Indigenous women and girls who are missing or have been murdered. Hanging red dresses or wearing red shows our support to families and survivors who are in need of finding answers, of being treated with compassion and dignity, and of knowing there is hope. - Minister of Indigenous Relations Rick Wilson

Ice Rink Update Due to the recent bout of warm weather, the skating surfaces have begun to melt and the skating season has now ended. Both skating surfaces are now closed for the season. Thank you to everyone for using the ice safely over the last couple of months.
Hi everyone - hope everyone has been enjoying the skating rinks with the beautiful holiday weather. Did you know it costs the community league more than $10,000/year to maintain the rinks? With our programs and rentals being cut by covid, that’s a big chunk of our annual budget. Which is why we are hosting a virtual fundraiser in less than two weeks to help keep it going! Have wine delivered right to your door, and join your neighbours and community members online for a virtual tasting. Sign up today and support your local community league and it’s rinks!! https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/greenfield-fundraising-online-w
Just a reminder that due to restrictions around gatherings, there will regrettably be no fireworks at the Greenfield hall tomorrow evening. Wishing our community a safe and healthy New Years and a fan-tabulous 2021!!Just a reminder that due to restrictions around gatherings, there will regrettably be no fireworks at the Greenfield hall tomorrow evening. It’s a holiday miracle - the ice is officially open! A couple things to remember - the rink is not monitored and social distancing is still in effect. So if there are too many people - please wait or come back later! The ice shack will remain closed so lace up is only outside by the rink. And no bathrooms! ... Your community league pays for the ice so please sign up for your membership BEFORE you use the ice. Go to greenfieldcommunityleague.com to purchase. And! If you want to support our ice making this year and next, check out our virtual fundraiser in January - https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/greenfield-fundraising-online-w Thanks everyone - happy skating!!

Just a reminder as we get closer everyone!! COVID-19 Safety Tips for Trick or Treating AHS has created the following 5 guidelines for your little ‘ghosts and goblins’ to follow this year when trick-or-treating:... Don't go trick-or-treating if feeling ill, even if symptoms are minor Choose costumes that allow a non-medical mask to be worn underneath, and make sure you can see and breathe comfortably Minimize contact with others: trick-or-treat with your family or cohort, remain within your community, and stay 2 metres apart Avoid touching doorbells or railings: call "trick or treat" from 2 metres away, knock instead of using doorbells, use hand sanitizer after touching surfaces Wash hands and disinfect packages before eating candy AHS guidelines for those wanting to hand out candy to trick-or-treaters: Don't hand out candy if feeling ill or isolating Wear a non-medical mask that fully covers your nose and mouth Ask trick-or-treaters to knock or call out instead of ringing the doorbell Use tongs to hand out pre-packaged candy to avoid handling treats Find creative ways to maintain distance from trick-or-treaters: Hand out treats from your driveway or front lawn, if weather permits Set up a table or desk to help keep yourself distanced Make candy bags and space them out on a table or blanket; don't leave out self-serve bowls of bulk candy Build a candy slide, candy catapult or other fun, non-touch delivery methods https://www.alberta.ca//do/covid19-halloween-tip-sheet.pdf
