What the FICUS going on? I'm pretty sure I say this on a daily basis in my house (or, at least in my in my head). Between the child and the new puppy, my family is living in a jungle (and if you saw the current state of our house, you would know I mean that both figuratively and literally!) Yes, I have plants and toys and "stuff" everywhere; Yes, my puppy is very naughty (but oh so adorable); and yes, I love every minute of it! ... Anyone else feel this way about life sometimes? BTW - that is a Ficus Elastica (aka Rubber Plant) in the planter so the saying is totally legit! These custom planters are available for ordering!

One of my clients found the most adorable LARGE bunny planters while she was out shopping and asked if I could fill it with some succulents. Needless to say, the answer was YES (always)! I specifically used the grey and pink succulents to enhance the colour scheme she already has in her house and she loves it!... Did you know that some succulents change colour when they are "stressed"? If they are exposed to too much heat or really cold temperatures, they will definitely let you know! This "jelly bean" sedum started out as pale green in the summer but has now turned a vibrant shade of red! I have yet to bring it inside this year and the cold temperatures lately have stressed her out in such a beautiful way.... I will get to enjoy her gorgeous shade of red for a few months indoors before she slowly turns back to green over the winter. If you still have any succulents outside, I would recommend bringing them indoors this weekend. Our overnight lows are slowly creeping into the freezing territory.

Peperomia Caperata (Red Luna) This beautiful plant with deep red leaves originated in the rain forests of Brazil. Peperomia like to be in bright light but do not like a lot of direct sunlight (and lower light is also acceptable to them). Not only do these plants add a pop of colour to your space, they are also really easy to care for. You should err on the side of underwatering them instead of overwatering as they like do not tolerate soggy soil. It's fleshy leaves and stems... can hold some water, so it's somewhat tolerant of neglect. I only have a few of these in stock and can plant them in your choice of planter!

I've had a few clients already inquire about Succulent Christmas Trees this year so I thought I'd put them back on my holiday rotation. They are 15" tall and super easy to care for. Orders are now open for these beauties!
