Happy Earth Day! Earth Day is every day on this gorgeous blue planet that somehow holds us in perfect balance, giving us all we need, but we forget this simple truth in our industry and dreams and schemes. There is a balance sheet for every action every day, and we are losing the earth's delicate balance by turning away. The children see clearly the planet is worth more than gold. "The Mother's Plea", is a song by Shannon Zirnhelt asking humanity to start listening to what... the Earth needs. The video features students, Ella Kruus and Julia Zirnhelt, founders of a youth climate change awareness group in Williams Lake in 2020, Third Planet Crusade. This project is a partnership with the Cariboo Chilcotin Conservation Society and Shannon Zirnhelt, funded by the Central Cariboo Arts and Culture Society, the Community Arts Council of Williams Lake, and by community sponsors and donations. The song is an invitation to pay attention and to get involved in the work of climate change mitigation and adaptation. See more

Toys are a $22 billion industry, which means a lot of plastic. Most plastic toys are designed to be made as inexpensively as possible, and often end up in the trash at the end of their life cycle.

WWF-Canada: Did you know Canada holds 20 per cent of the world’s freshwater? This #WorldWaterDay we're highlighting the need for more data "to address freshwater health in the face of climate change and provide the proper protection it needs." Our new report raises serious questions about how freshwater ecosystems are faring in response to threats from human activities, and once again underlines the need for consistent water monitoring across the country to identify those watersheds that need urgent conservation action."
