The latest scam encounter on Facebook. I'd like to share my experience with everyone for awareness. Here is my story: I was selling an used item on Marketplace for $20 and got contacted by the person below in the image. "She" explained to me that she is busy with work and will not be able to pick up the item by herself, instead she will send DPD (an European company for pick up and delivery service, actually a real one) carrier service for pick up. She also told me that I wil...l be paid by DPD where she has paid to them for the service including the amount to be paid to me , supposing $20. However, there will be an insurance fee to be paid by me normally, which she is including this fee in the total fee she will be paying. Sound lush, but I was curious to see what's going on. I provided my basic information to receive a delivery notification which is a standard process from DPD (I checked on their company website how it works at the same time). However, in the email I received right after, it comes up to a total of $147 to be paid to me, includes $77 for insurance and other fees. Sounds too good to be true already. I am not sure why. You can see the image of email for the fees breakdown if you read French. Here comes the catch, in the email, it asks me to pay the insurance fee upfront and the delivery will come as schedule to pick up the parcel, and I will get $147 at the time of pick up. During this time, I investigated online after DPD company and service, there were many complaints about the pick up service just never showed up. Immediately, I check the email again, and noticed it's from a gmail address. Please see the image below where I mark the fraud indication with a yellow arrow. So I told her that there is no way I will pay out anything. She begged me to trust her and if I don't continue the process, she will loose all $147 she has "paid". I boldly told her that this is a fraud and she went on silent. I am sharing the story in hoping everyone knows that we are exposed publicly for many fraudulent situation.
