Food waste is a devastating issue that has a direct impact on climate change and the environment at large. When food collects in a landfill, it creates methane, a greenhouse gas that is far more potent than carbon dioxide. In turn, all of the resources that were used to produce the food (land, water and energy) are then also wasted which impacts biodiversity. A sustainable solution to food waste is to compost & repurpose your kitchen scraps! ... The Urban Composter City bokashi bin is a countertop composting system that turns your unwanted peels, food scraps and leftovers into nutrient-rich fertilizer for your garden. This revolutionary compost container doesn’t just hold your kitchen scraps en-route to the compost heap; it actually starts the composting process right in your kitchen without any bad smells. And you can compost not only fruits and vegetables, but also meat, fish, dairy, eggs and fats! #StopFoodWasteDay #shopgreenlivingstore #shopwithpurpose

WOODEN TOYS vs. PLASTIC TOYS Wooden toys made from sustainably sourced wood are a much more environmentally friendly option than plastic toys. As an organic, renewable substance, wooden toys are biodegradable and can be recycled. Wooden toys are also free of toxic chemicals when no paint is used to decorate them (or painted with toxic chemical free paint). Where as many mass-produced plastic toys can contain chemicals and often offer little prospect of renewability....
