Dave Deveau's TAGGED, which was commissioned by Green Thumb and premiered in 2015, is being produced in Poland at Teatr Powszechny w odzi! This Polish translation marks the third translation of the show, which has also been presented in Hebrew and German. Congrats Dave! This translation also marks the ninth language translation for Green Thumb commissioned plays!... Scott Button as Webber and Lindsay Winch as Jerri in TAGGED by Dave Deveau. Costume Design by Connie Hosie. Video and Set Design by Craig Alfredson. Photo by Moonrider Productions. (2015) About TAGGED: As an Officer investigates Jerri and Webber, two young adults, in the incessant online harassment of a fellow student, not all is as it appears to be. TAGGED explores themes of peer pressure and online popularity and looks at social responsibility and accountability for actions taken online.

An update regarding our STILL/FALLING livestream run: We’re incredibly proud of the artistic work that has gone into our livestream of STILL/FALLING. We are equally proud of the rigorous safety protocols we have put in place to keep all artists, staff and contractors safe while working on this show. We are called upon right now to exercise the most extreme of those protocols. Out of an abundance of caution, we have made the difficult decision to put all in-person operations ...on hold while a COVID exposure among our ranks is investigated by public health. As such, all remaining streams of STILL/FALLING will be a recording of our afternoon performance from May 3, 2021. Unfortunately this means the live Q&A portion of this piece is no longer available, though each show is still followed by a facilitated discussion with our partners from Anxiety Canada. We apologize for the inconvenience. STILL/FALLING equipment. Set by Ken MacDonald. Lighting by John Webber.

There’s still time for elementary school educators to request copies of our new CELESTIAL BEING colouring book for your schools! Text is adapted from the stage play by Dave Deveau with illustrations by Cecil Ward. The books are FREE and, as Green Thumb staff can attest, are great fun to work on! In addition to Lower Mainland requests, we are now accepting requests from outside the Lower Mainland for delivery by mail within the province! Educators, please email [email protected] with the name of your school and the number of copies you’d like to request, and we’ll take it from there! Story synopsis and full details available: https://www.greenthumb.bc.ca//celestial-being-colouring-bo

Today's featured writer in our Meet the Playwrights series: Bronwyn Carradine! What excites you about creating work for young audiences? Bronwyn: Everything. The thing I love most about writing for Theatre for Young Audiences, is that this type of theatre exists to inspire important conversations about youth and the world. I know if I do my job well as a writer, then the audience will feel like they are watching themselves onstage. I know from going to many school shows with... Green Thumb, that the most exciting thing is to hear the conversations that happen after the show takes place in the hallways of the school or theatre. Today's featured writer: Michael McCreary! Has the pandemic changed your approach to writing/creativity? If so how? Michael: Yes. If anything, it has actually improved my work ethic.
