They will try to do an early renewal and won't offer you the best rate available. The same lender may be giving better rates to new clients through the broker channel. Contact your broker, this year I saved some of my clients between $3,000 - $10,000 by going back to market. Sure the cond...ition paper work is a pain, but one or two hours of work has a return of thousands of dollars. A good broker/mortgage professional will take this opportunity to save his clients even more money. Generally income has increased in the last 5 years. They will suggest accelerated payment options or decreased amortizations and save you even more money. A new lender may have options/features which work better for these goals. Your mortgage is the biggest debt you ever carry, give it the attention it deserves.
