I've revisited this photo multiple times over the last couple years and I've hardly felt satisfied enough with it. Between its original composition and somewhat unnatural looking blue hues, I couldn't replicate the beauty and scale I saw in person. Finally, I've arrived at an edit I'm happy with after learning new skills and feeling more comfortable with my editing style. It's still only a glimpse of the entire goliath-like glacier it stems from, but I hope you still get a se...nse of the radiant, cold energy I felt while standing in front of it. Lately I've been leaning towards cooler tones and trying to get used to incorporating blue and aqua hues in my photo edits. I find blue can be overly saturated in my RAW files so I have a tendency to pull them back a lot. With Adobe's new colour grading feature in Lightroom I've had so much more control over the mood I'm going for, and I'm finding new life in some of my older photographs. After the year that just passed I think I've needed more time to recharge than ever before. Although the only real change is the date, I am coming into this new year with hope and excitement. It feels like there could be something right around the corner - the next "checkpoint" if you will. If there is anything I could wish for fellow creatives, it's that this year can bring a glimpse of clarity.
