Canada expected to receive 300,000 new permanent residents in 2016 If Canada succeeded in welcoming 300,000 new permanent residents in 2016, it will be the most migrants received in one year, in over 100 years - since 1914 when Canada's immigration system was disrupted by the First World War in Europe. These are very significant numbers, especially for a country the size of Canada. ... But many other applicants will not succeed, either because they do not qualify, or they they did not prepare an effective application. It is extremely important that hopeful applicants get a professional opinion on the strengths and weaknesses of their case. Good advice includes an explanation of the weaknesses of the case and what might be done to strengthen it. That information can either help you save save money if you do not qualify, or enable you to put forward the strongest case possible where you do have a good case. In addition to assisting people with their immigration applications I also assist other people who have been refused and need help to determine their remaining options - and I am pleased to be able to help in that way. But I would rather congratulate a client who has been successful than have to do an appeal for someone whose application has been refused because they either did not have a good case in the first place, or because they did not put forward as strong a case as they could have. So, the first piece of advice I would give anyone interested in migrating to Canada is to get good advice. At the very least, make sure you get advice from someone who has a Canadian license to provide Canadian immigration advice. I can give that advice, but so can many others.
