Another season has come and gone. Thank you to the lifeguards for making this pool season possible and to Public Works for keeping water quality and facilities ...safe and at their best. This week is a great one to remember to enjoy the water, but with care and caution. It only takes a minute for a tragedy to happen. Last week at the Grenfell pool a toddler was left alone in the water while their caregiver returned something to the stroller, nearby the gate entrance. The child lost their footing and went face-down into the water, without the ability to turn onto their back or stand. Fortunately the child was OK, but the outcome could have been very different.... While we have a great team of lifeguards equipped with the skills necessary to respond to an emergency, prevention is key. If your child cannot swim or is not a confident swimmer they need to be within arm's reach.

While the pool is open today, please be mindful that it is Pool Policy to close the pool upon hearing or seeing thunder and lightening. The pool will then remain closed for 30 minutes after the last flash or bang (image courtesy The Weather Network).

Thumbs up to the pool opening today at 12 p.m. for adult-only swim, and then at 1 p.m. for public swimming, and again at 3:30 p.m. for a second public swim slot. Just as important as the pool opening date, is the guidelines all patrons must adhere to this season. Please, come prepared and knowledgeable about our policies and your responsibilities.

Please consider buying a 5 or 10 swim pass, or season pass from the Town Office, in efforts to reduce the handling of cash by our staff. * Children 10 & under must be accompanied by an adult. Each person that comes through the gate must pay admission (even if they do not swim) as they count toward our capacity limit.

The announcement everyone's been waiting for. The Grenfell Swimming Pool will be opening July 13 with new guidelines and policies to meet both provincial guidelines and industry standards.. There will be no swim lessons, lane swimming or Aquasize at this time. Public Swimming will be available in two time blocks per day, to allow for the greatest number of people to enjoy the facility safely and in accordance with capacity regulations. An adult-only (18+) swim will also be a...vailable on weekdays. Season passes will be sold at the Town Office, and Mini Store, and are encouraged to limit the handling of cash by our employees. We ask for your cooperation and understanding as we work to deliver a modified and safe pool season.

Important information regarding the opening of the Grenfell Swimming Pool will be released this week. Direct communication and education coming from the Town Office will be critical in ensuring the Grenfell Pool staff and visitors are safe and compliant with Provincial Guidelines during this swim season. At this time, the Town of Grenfell will remain on course, with its online campground bookings opening on April 1. Currently, the Town anticipates its campgroun...d to open for the season on May 31st, however, this is subject to change with the current COVID-19 crisis unfolding across the nation. Reservations will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. The best and most effective way to reserve your date and site is to book online. With limited staffing and modified work arrangements currently in place for office staff, there is no guarantee telephone bookings will be possible. Thanks to previous years feedback, the Town now has a new, more user-friendly online booking service. You are encouraged to visit grenfellpark.letscamp.ca (or link through the Town website under the recreation page) to become familiar with the new online booking system. Step-by-step instructions are available on the Town website if you have difficulty navigating the online service. Please be aware all campsites will appear as unavailable until April 1, and functions are limited.

The Cross-country ski trail is groomed and ready for its first skiers. Please refer to map for approximate trail route.
