#Droughts can be stressful for farmers as dry seasons could lead to loss of commercial, industrial, and #agricultural production. Recent #rain has helped, but o...verall it's been a very dry season for local #farmers; and don't forget, changes to low water conditions can be slow to occur and may not happen overnight. Agricultural #water consumers can make the most of their water supplies and mitigate the impacts of low water conditions by implementing efficiencies and limiting non-essential water use. Here are some tips! Are you a local #farmer who would like to report how this year's drought has been impacting your operations? You can complete a brief survey on our website. Responses will guide future drought response and fund development for drought support programs. Survey can be found here: https://bit.ly/31JPXWY Visit our website for more information on current #watershed conditions: https://bit.ly/3lyz5dJ
Our government is taking action to enhance public safety and to better protect our food supply. Beginning September 2, it will now be an offence to stop, obstru...ct, hinder or interfere with a livestock transport vehicle under the Security from Trespass and Protecting Food Safety Act, 2020. OMAFRA has also launched consultations on the remaining parts of the Act which will allow the public to provide input into the regulations that help operationalize the rest of the Act. Check out news.ontario.ca//ontario-moving-to-enhance-public-safety-a for more info. #OntAg
The OFA Regional Meeting for members in Grenville County will be hosted on October 14, 2020 at 7:30 p.m. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, OFA is conducting this year’s regional meeting in a virtual format.

Farmers and rural property owners can help to deter trespassers by using 'No Trespassing' signs along their property. OFA has developed signs for members to post on their farm property. For more information and tips on dealing with trespassers, visit OFA's website.
