Grey-Bruce Ryusei Karate

Hello everyone, it’s been 5 months now since we had to close the doors to our dojo’s because of Covid-19 but we are hoping to have classes starting back up again in the fall. We’ll keep you posted on what protocols we have to put in place and if we have to change the class structure. So with any luck I hope we will see everyone soon.

Congratulations to Ronan Johnson and Greg Stroeder on achieving Shodan (1st degree black belt). Their hard word and dedication from an early age was clear as Greg would always be practicing by himself as soon as he hit the dojo floor and Ronan would always be asking great questions to clarify something he was working on. So it wasn’t just the time they spent in the dojo but the time they put into their Karate outside the dojo as well that allowed them to test for Shodan at 1...4 years old. When Sakamoto-Sensei was here last fall (October 2019) he was really impress by their performance of Chinto after he gave a few minor corrections. These two young men along with Greg’s sister Sam, have been a real pleasure to watch grow up. Congratulations from Matt Mannerow and Peter Zehr, we look forward to teaching, training and watching you develop your own Karate technique for years to come.

Hello everyone, this message goes out to current Grey-Bruce Ryusei students, are you guys wanting to do Zoom classes? if you are interested let me know, please message me privately so I can send you the link once I have the times set up.

During this time please continue your training by training at home. If you are a member of the Ryusei organization please message me and I will send you a link to get videos of the curriculum. If you need anything regarding your training, for example a video of a bunkai or kata you are working on, let me know and Peter and I will do our best to get it to you. As soon as we can start classes up again we will, be safe and stay healthy.
