Today's the day! We'd like to introduce you to our two special guest artists for this festival: Melanie Leger is a Moncton-based writer who writes for theatre, ...film and television, and for children's literature. Today she'll be reading from her children's book, En attendant l'autobus, which was published right here in Moncton by Bouton d'or Acadie ! She'll also be speaking about her process of writing the book and giving some advice for young writers seeking to do so. This reading will be in French! We're also pleased to be welcoming the Vardi Puppet House! The Vardi Puppet House is a traveling children's puppet theater developed this year in Fredericton, NB. These short cheerful shows are great for the little ones passing by. Our puppets are durable and easy to replicate, making interactive play and education easier to access. We're pleased to be welcoming Dustyn and Naomi from Grey Rabbit Theatre Co., who will be performing three great pieces of puppet theatre, including Meatball the Cat, which was developed in residency with Solo Chicken Productions this summer. We can't wait to have you join us this afternoon to see these great artists and performers and join in on all the fun at our booths. FR: Aujourd'hui c'est le jour! Nous aimerions vous présenter nos deux artistes invités spéciaux pour ce festival: Melanie Leger est une auteure basée à Moncton qui écrit pour le théâtre, le cinéma et la télévision et pour la littérature pour enfants. Aujourd'hui, elle va lire un extrait de son livre pour enfants, En attendant l'autobus, qui a été publié ici même à Moncton par Bouton d'or Acadie! Elle parlera également de son processus d'écriture du livre et donnera quelques conseils aux jeunes écrivains qui le souhaitent. Cette lecture sera en français! Nous sommes également ravis d'accueillir la maison de marionnettes Vardi! La maison de marionnettes Vardi est un théâtre de marionnettes pour enfants développé cette année à Fredericton, au Nouveau-Brunswick. Ces courts spectacles gais sont parfaits pour les petits qui passent. Leurs marionnettes sont durables et faciles à reproduire, ce qui facilite l'accès aux jeux et à l'éducation interactifs. Nous sommes heureux d'accueillir Dustyn et Naomi de Grey Rabbit Theatre Co., qui interpréteront trois superbes pièces de théâtre de marionnettes, dont Meatball the Cat, qui a été développé en résidence avec Solo Chicken Productions cet été. Grey Rabbit Theater Co's performers Dustyn and Naomi are heading to the Moncton Avenir Center tomorrow for the Kreativ Children's Festival Jeunesse hosted by The School of Atlantic Ballet Atlantique Canada! Catch these beautiful faces and the Vardi Puppet House from 11-4. Be sure to see "Meatball the Cat" as well, created in partnership with Solo Chicken Productions whilst in residency this summer!
