If you have an hour or so to spend, and would like to show the Marine Museum of the Great Lakes at Kingston some love, please take a look at this Nautical Nights presentation from this week. There is plenty of Lakes storytelling most of it true! youtube.com/watch?v=PQHwRTO8YgI&feature=youtu.be

Seaway Queens, Chapter 6 Launched! (Freshwater) Sailors Stories presents Lakes storytelling through first-hand account and shared anecdotes and both mostly true! The chapter provides insight into expert Lakes ship handling and veers off course to investigate the prime suspect rumour has it that it was a seagull in the theft of some prime beef. It also includes stories from readers who were invited to share their own Lakes lore. How fun is that?! seawayqueens.com

Friends, Some really nice people at the Marine Museum of the Great Lakes at Kingston have asked me to present our book, Seaway Queens, as part of their Nautical Nights, Winter Speaker Series. It would be great if you could attend and support the good work of the museum. https://www.marmuseum.ca/education/nautical-nights

Thank you to everyone who has ordered an Edward L. Ryerson poster. Your support has been wonderful. Several customers have indicated that they are already having their copy framed or mounted in some fashion. We'd love to see the end result, including the ship's final "destination." For those who would like to send along a photo of the poster in their "home port" and also grant us permission to share the photo on social media, we'll put your name in a draw for a free poster that you can send to a friend. (Note: The draw will be totally random, with the winner chosen by our rescue bunny, Gilbert.) So send us a photo, and Boast About Your Boat Poster! More poster knowster here: https://lnkd.in/g7D7BH3

The upcoming chapter of our digital book, Seaway Queens, focuses on maritime art. In it, we talk a bit about how we created our commemorative Edward L. Ryerson poster. Here’s a sneak peek at the process, from initial inspiration chapeau, Adolphe Mouron Cassandre to research to design. Special thanks to Roger LeLievre who guided us on the finer points of the Ryerson’s fine lines. Order the poster here: https://lnkd.in/g7D7BH3

Edward L. Ryerson Sets Sail! Turns out, the easiest part of designing a limited-edition poster of a classic Laker in the tradition of Art Deco is putting the ship in a bottle! We’ve begun mailing the posters, and it should take a week or so before customers’ ships start to come in.... Anyone interested in acquiring their own copy, or picking up one for a boat-nerdy friend, can learn more here: https://lnkd.in/g7D7BH3 Ta.

Ship inspection! The printer's proof of our Edward L. Ryerson poster has passed inspection! Off to press it goes. We expect the actual posters in about 7 sleeps, and will begin shipping them out to customers. Thanks to everyone who pre-ordered, and to those who offered kind feedback. Both are welcome aboard!... A portion of sales will be donated to the Boatnerd Web site. More info on the poster: https://lnkd.in/g7D7BH3
