What does a fracture look like? How does it heal? I'm sure you have all met our all-star office manager Samantha. Unfortunately, as you can see, falling off a bicycle isn't too fun. We have tracked her progress over the last month and have been helping her recover. ... Through these photos, you can take a look at how her fibula fractured, how it healed, and what happened to the soft tissue surrounding the ankle that has been immobilized for 4 weeks. Photos 1 and 2 are from the day the fracture happened. Take a look at the skinny bone on the x-ray (distal fibula). Photos 3 and 4 are four weeks after her fracture. There is a lot of work that still needs to be done because she is still in the healing phase. To help get healthy blood carrying nutrients to her fractured area, the stagnant debris surrounding the ankle must be carried away through her venous and lymphatic systems. At the same time, her ankle mobility must be restored safely and effectively. We will do our best to get her back on track!

We are pleased to announce that we will be re-opening Monday June 22nd! We will be opening our online scheduling site to everyone on Wednesday June 17th at 8:00am. Those who had their appointments cancelled due to the COVID-19 closure will be contacted on Tuesday June 16th to reschedule their appointment.... You will see some aesthetic changes in our clinic to comply with the current COVID-19 Municipal, Provincial & Federal guidelines including a plexiglass barrier at the front desk when booking appointments and making payments as well as various signage around the office. Marc, Michael & Samantha will be wearing appropriate personal protective equipment during your time in the clinic. Please read the below expectations we have set out for our clinic with help from Ontario Health: What you will expect prior to your treatment: If possible, please book appointments online at grimsbyosteopathy.janeapp.com We will be completing screening for COVID-19 symptoms prior to your appointment by either phone or email as well as at the office. Please arrive 5 minutes prior to your appoint time and wait in your vehicle or outside. We will allow patients to enter at their appointment time. Please do not bring visitors in to the office. Only scheduled patients will be allowed to enter the clinic unless absolutely necessary. At your scheduled treatment time: If possible, bring your own face mask. If you do not have one, one will be provided to you upon entry. You will be required to wear a face mask during your entire time in the clinic. Please leave your shoes at the front entrance. We will provide sanitizer for your hands upon entry. After your treatment: Please see Samantha at the front desk to schedule your next treatment and make any payments. Please do not stay in the front lobby area after re-scheduling, we will need to clean and get ready for our next patient. We have missed seeing all of you and are looking forward to seeing you soon.
