Andrea C. Johnson, BComm, J.D., Associate Andrea was born and raised in Calgary. In 2005, she moved to Saskatoon to attend the Edwards School of Business and received her Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Human Resources Management and Industrial Relations in 2009. She then attended the University of Saskatchewan College of Law, convocating in 2012. Andrea articled with a large firm in Regina and, following her call to the bar in 2013, she continued to practice with that firm..., mainly in the areas of administrative law, labour law and employment law. From 2017 until 2018, Andrea practiced with a treasury board crown corporation, focusing on administrative law and regulatory law. Andrea joined Gerrand Rath Johnson at the beginning of 2019. She is excited to return to a practice that focuses on labour law and employment law. Andrea has represented clients before all levels of court in Saskatchewan, the Saskatchewan Labour Relations Board, and labour arbitrators. Andrea is a volunteer for the Pro Bono Law Saskatchewan Free Legal Clinic. She is on the board of director for the Regina Bar Association. She is also the Vice Chair for the Canadian Bar Association’s Women Lawyers South Section. Andrea is an avid traveler. She enjoys spending her free time curling or playing with her dog, Faith. Christina G. Skibinsky, B.A., LL.B., Associate Christina was born and raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. She earned a Bachelor of Arts (with Great Distinction) from the University of Saskatchewan in 2002, and received her Bachelor of Laws from the University of Saskatchewan in 2005. While completing her law degree, Christina served as a member of the Board of Editors for the Saskatchewan Law Review. In 2004, Christina was awarded the P. E. Mackenzie Scholarship, based on her ...academic performance. From Articling Student to Associate Christina joined Gerrand Rath Johnson as an articling student and had the opportunity to spend a one month secondment at the Saskatchewan Court of Appeal. She has continued her legal career with the firm as an associate lawyer. Christina is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Saskatchewan Trial Lawyers' Association, and the Criminal Lawyers' Association. Crystal L. Norbeck, B.HJ., LL.B., Partner Crystal Norbeck grew up in Regina. She earned a Bachelor of Human Justice degree from the University of Regina in 1998, then moved to Edmonton to attend the College of Law at the University of Alberta law school. Crystal received a Bachelor of Laws degree in 2002 and was called to the Alberta Bar in 2003. She practised law in Edmonton for five years before returning to Regina in 2007 to take a position as counsel for the Canadian Unio...n of Public Employees. Crystal joined Gerrand Rath Johnson LLP in the fall of 2012 and became a partner in 2014. Crystal practices primarily administrative law and civil litigation, with a focus on labour, human rights and employment law. Crystal acts as counsel to unions and employees on a wide range of labour and employment law issues and has appeared before the Saskatchewan Labour Relations Board and Arbitration Boards, as well as all levels of Court in Alberta and Saskatchewan. Crystal is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, Canadian Association of Labour Lawyers and the Regina Bar Association. She has chaired and presented at conferences and speaking events for lawyers and for members of the public on various topics, including human rights, social media and addictions. (OXON), Partner Born in Regina, Bill studied Economics and Political Science, and Law, at the University of Saskatchewan, graduating in 1973 with a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws. On a Rhodes Scholarship, he earned a Master of Laws degree at Oxford University. After teaching law at the University of Saskatchewan and clerking at the Supreme Court of Canada, Bill returned to Regina in 1978 and began practicing law with the fi...rm now known as Gerrand Rath Johnson. He appears regularly before the superior courts in Saskatchewan and on occasion in the Federal Court of Canada. In 1997, the Government of Saskatchewan appointed Mr. Johnson Queen's Counsel. Greg D. Fingas, B.A., LL.B., Partner Greg is a partner with Gerrand Rath Johnson LLP in Regina, working primarily in the areas of labour law, employment law, information and privacy, and general litigation. Greg received a Bachelor of Arts with Distinction from the University of Regina in 2001, followed by a Bachelor of Law with Distinction, at the University of Alberta in 2004. Greg clerked with the Saskatchewan Court of Appeal and was called to the Saskatchewan Bar in 2005.... Labour and Employment In his labour practice, Greg provides research, advice and advocacy for a variety of trade union clients under both provincial and federal jurisdiction. Greg has worked extensively in the areas of workplace privacy, pensions and benefits, human rights, contracting out, and certification and successorship issues. Greg is a Saskatchewan Vice-President of the Canadian Association of Labour Lawyers. Greg’s employment law practice includes advice and litigation on issues of wrongful termination, as well as workplace policy analysis and development.. Heather L. Robertson, B. HJ., LL.B., Partner Born in Moose Jaw Saskatchewan, Heather Robertson attended the University of Regina where she obtained a Bachelor of Human Justice Degree in 1998. After that, she worked for several years for the Government of Saskatchewan as a family services worker. In that role, Heather provided child protection intervention and referrals to community services for adults, youth and children. Deciding to further pursue her post-secondary educatio...n, Heather chose the legal field and completed her Bachelor of Laws at the University of Manitoba in 2009. She articled in 2009-2010 with the Government of Saskatchewan, Ministry of Justice, and was called to the Saskatchewan bar in June, 2010. Labour Law Practice In June 2010, Heather joined Gerrand Rath Johnson where she built a practice highly concentrated in labour law, representing and advising unions on a variety of legal matters. She regularly represents clients at both the Saskatchewan Labour Relations Board and in arbitration hearings. Like all of the lawyers in our firm, Heather is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and a section member of the CBA Saskatchewan Administrative and Labour Law South Section. Jana N. Stettner, B.A., LL.B., Associate Jana was born in Regina. She studied English Literature at the University of Regina, receiving a Bachelor of Arts (with Great Distinction) in 2000. She then moved to Toronto to study law, receiving her Bachelor of Laws (with Honours) from the University of Toronto in 2003. Following law school, Jana clerked with Justice Edgar Sexton at the Federal Court of Appeal in Ottawa. She then received the Harold G. Fox Scholarship to travel t...o London, England for a year to train with barristers and complete advocacy training with the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple. During her time in London, Jana also marshalled with a Judge at the Old Bailey Criminal Court. When her Fox Scholarship concluded in 2005, Jana began practising civil litigation in Toronto. She was counsel at trials, on appeals, in applications and at arbitration. In addition to appearing as counsel before all levels of court in Ontario, Jana also appeared as counsel in the Federal Court and the Supreme Court of Canada. After taking some time away from legal practice to travel and pursue other passions, Jana’s heart brought her home to Saskatchewan. She is happy to have joined Gerrand Rath Johnson LLP as an associate. Her practice now focuses on advocacy on behalf of union clients in labour law matters.
