GROOMING DECLARED NON-ESSENTIAL EFFECTIVE BOXING DAY 2020 We have just been informed from our pet industry group that has been in contact with the Ontario Gover...nment informing us that the section of the Essential Workplace Legislation that had allowed grooming to operate (even in grey zones) has been replaced with a modified section. "On December 26, 2020, section 23 of Schedule 2 to the Regulation is revoked" ... it was replaced with new wording that stipulates Pet Groomers cannot be open during the lockdown period. We will be reaching out to clients with existing bookings to reschedule. We are not taking any new appointments for after lockdown until we get our current appointments rebooked. Watch our page for more details on our reopening of the salon and how to book. Thank you for your understanding. We apologize about having to close the salons.

We are in urgent need of a groomer (Temporary fill in ... but could turn permanent if you wish) our main groomer is on Mat leave and our other groomer just brok...e her foot! We are looking for a skilled groomer who is comfortable with all breeds to work a minimum of 3 days a week..up to a maximun of 5 days a week (your choice) who is willing to groom 4-5 dogs a day of all sizes. The appointments are already booked and the salon is just waiting for you to step in! The current need is at our HWY15 location..but if you are interested in continuing on with grooming at Pet Valu we have permanent part time or full time work available at our salons. Still want to groom at your home based business...no problem. You can come work for us part time and see how you like it without having to give up your other work. Currently grooming salons are not permitted to be open but we are hiring now to make sure we are ready for the clientele that are anxiously awaiting our re-opening. Access to grooming services has been a MAJOR concern for Pet Parents, now is the time to join our well-respected team! Pet Valu’s in house grooming salon ‘Groomingdales’ Kingston is looking for an experienced full time pet groomer to join our team. Our former groomer has decided to return to her home town which created this opening. If you have a love of dogs and at least 2 years of grooming experience, including the ability to groom all breeds, great scissoring skills, and have a calm, patient demeaner with your four legged clients then this could be the perfect opportunity for you. (We don’t groom cats are aren’t looking to add that service at this time). This is not a bather/brusher position. Our stores have a large client base already established. They enjoy the professional operation of our salon combined with the convenience of our location and the stellar reputation our businesses have in the local community. We have three locations in Kingston feeding clients into our grooming salons which helps give all our groomers a steady, reliable base of pet owners to draw from. We literally see thousands of customers every month. We have a large elevated stainless steel tub, stainless steel crates, dryers, computer based appointment and client management software and more. Onsite laundry facilities mean you don’t have to outsource towel service or do laundry off site, staff to handle your bookings during our store hours making it very convenient to have clients book appointments with you. Hours are negotiable, but we will have minimum requirements which will include days, evenings and weekends. This position is an employee commission-based opportunity, it is not an independent contractor position.
