Take a minute to reflect on this past week, are there are any type of thoughts that have dominated your thinking? It can be easy for us to become so focused on circumstances that are beyond our control, that we forget that we know the one who is in control of everything! If we’re not careful, we can lose sight of the fact that our thoughts don’t control us, but that we control our thoughts. Today, fix your eyes on what is true. What is honorable. Right. Pure. Lovely. Admirable. Excellent. Worthy of praise. Fix your eyes on Jesus. Not only is He in control, but He loves you, and He is with you.

Many of us are so used to being worried that it feels more normal to be worried than to be worry-free! Can you relate? The Bible tells us not to worry about anything, but to pray about everything. Prayer is the antidote to worry because it shifts our perspective! It’s more difficult to worry about tomorrow when you’re busy thanking God for all that He’s done and is doing. Prayer reminds us that we are known and loved by a God who is in control of everything. God cares about what troubles us, but He isn’t worried! Invite Him into whatever is worrying you today, and allow Him to bring you peace! How can we be praying with you?

Think of the best friend you’ve ever had. Did you feel like you needed to constantly do certain things to keep them happy? Or did you feel like you could be yourself with them? That you could be vulnerable, honest, and real? In the Bible we learn that Jesus views His followers as friends. Rather than us being His servants, God wants you to live in a real, honest relationship with Him. Whatever your week held, and whether it ended on a high note or a low note, you can be open with God about how you’re feeling. You’ll never find a better friend!
