We lost a Grouse Mountain legend this week. Tim Peck first came to Grouse in 1976 to work in construction on the final stages of the Red Skyride, on what started as a two-week contract. Over the next 40 plus years, Tim was instrumental in building Grouse Mountain into what it is today. He oversaw projects that ranged from numerous Chalet expansions including constructing the Timber Room deck and Theatre In The Sky, to construction of the hiwus Feasthouse, the Skating Pond and... so many others. He also loved to share stories. One of his favourite Grouse memories was from a summer concert series when Jimmy Buffet performed in Paradise Bowl. Before the public concert took place, Jimmy Buffet performed a special sound-check show just for staff. Aside from his many great stories, when asked what he most liked about his time at the Mountain, it was the people he got to work with and relationships he built through the years that stood out the most. We will miss his warmth, kindness, patience and of course, the big smile behind that legendary mustache. See more
