As an unofficial rule I don't write about something until I've fully processed it. It took me months to write the Fat posts and the one about Zosia breaking her arm. This post is an exception. I am deep in this. Big huge change, and for the first time in my life no clear path or plan. ... Times like this call for a new way. http://growcoaching.ca/wordpress-blog/hitting-pause/

So I googled myself tonight to clean-up my social media presence (translation: double check there aren't too many pictures of me drinking wine) and I found a bunch of articles that I was featured in! Here's one: http://www.augustafamily.com/Augusta-Family-//Date-Nights/

I freakin' love Fitness Blender!!! I've avoided exercise in the past for a bunch of reasons - I'm exhausted, I don't have time, I don't like it, and I'd rather sit on the couch and read a book. There are tons of videos on this site, they come in all kinds of lengths and types, and it's all free! ... Everybody avoids doing things - it's totally normal. Often times we do this because it brings us relief in the short term, but it does not always help us towards our long-term goals. And I do want to be healthy and strong, and to keep up with my kids! Here's the mindful approach to avoiding: 1) Notice when you're avoiding - for me this is when I'm looking at the iPad, thinking about exercising, and noticing all the thoughts come in. "But I did so much today already. I'd rather just take a break and read. I'm so tired. I totally deserve a rest." 2) Kindly label those thoughts as what they are - just thoughts! "Oh look at that, I'm thinking about avoiding exercise again. That's okay, thoughts can come and go as they please. I can't really control them, but I can decide what I want to do." 3) Take a deep breath, get quiet, and then decide for yourself what you want to do. What's important to me? What do I truly need right now? Sometimes you will just take a break. And sometimes you'll do the 17 minute work-out and feel great. The key is that you'll be doing it consciously and not because your patterns of behavior are driving the bus. http://www.fitnessblender.com/

Mindful Momery is here!!!! Remember that time I asked you all what questions you have for a parenting coach/child development expert? Episode #1 is ready! In this call Margery answers the following:... - How do I get my almost 4-year old to stay in her own bed all night? - How do you explain why a child is one of only 3 in a classroom not invited to a birthday party when they ask "Why not me mommy?" - How do I approach my child who is afraid of trying things? - Do I need to do anything about the thumb-sucking/soother? - How do I handle tattling? http://www.growcoaching.ca/b/mindful-momery-margery-healey/
