New laying hens are here and settling in nicely (they’ve already given us a few little )! We still have some work to do in their new accommodations but they are warm, fed & watered... soon they will be roaming around behind the barn in the fenced in area! We just have to make sure it’s safe & secure from predators first. Well folks, we’ve had a couple days of quiet and now it’s time to get back to work! Our pasture raised chicken products are going fast and once they are sold out that is it until late spring/ early summer when we have some pasture to raise more chickens on! They are here!!! The moment we’ve all been waiting for... Smithers’ Sausages made special for the farm store with our heritage Berkshire ground pork & smoked bacon are in stock! These are approx. 2lb packs of gourmet, handmade with whole ingredients ( no bagged spice mixes found here!) sausages. They are $16 per pack and there are 4 sausages. It’s about double the size of our standard sausages! Here’s the flavours:... Cheddar bacon rendered bacon, sautéed onions and a mix of old and mild cheddar Honey Garlic & Bourbon raw organic honey, with garlic confit and bourbon, hints of cinnamon and anise Italian fresh sautéed fennel and onion, fennel seed, fresh fennel frond, white wine and chilies You will want to try these - we can’t decide which ones to have first... we’ve been craving them all since our first taste test! Message to order! 3) Last call is coming up to get your orders in for fresh, pasture-raised whole chickens! This will be the last batch until early summer 2021. Chickens are $4.50/lb and should be between 4-6lbs.
