Did you know Canada is the ONLY G7 nation without any form of universal school meal program? If you haven’t already sent an email to your MLA candidates, now is your chance! With only a week left before BC goes to the polls, now is the time to ask your candidates to invest in #BCSchoolFood and to commit to #NourishKidsNow to make sure all students have daily access to healthy food at school. The BC chapter of the Coalition for Healthy School Food has created an easy and quick tool for you to send an email to your MLA candidates, and ask them to commit to provincial funding for a universal, cost-shared, healthy school food program. Because no child deserves to go to school hungry. https://www.healthyschoolfood.ca/bc-chapter
Executive Chef Welbert Choi believes programs like Growing Chefs are important because "It shows the next generation the amount of work farming involves. Every vegetable is precious in its unique way." Chef Welbert and forage are participating in our From Farms to Forks Food Series. All VIP Food Series Pass holders will have the opportunity to order from a Secret Menu at Forage on October 18th. 100 VIP Food Series Passes have been released. Only 30 remain. www.growingchefs.ca/fftf11 #FFTF11
