It’s #WhimsicalWednesday and the theme for today is good enough. I’m still so excited that I get to co-host the Grow My GRIT podcast with my friend, Peter, from elementary school ! We were just talking about creative endeavours and the fact that, when there’s an opportunity to let go of something we’ve created, there are distinct default settings in the face of that obstacle. One is to hold onto the creative project until it’s perfect and the other is to put the projec...t out there in the name of progress. The first option is a trap because there’s no such thing as perfect; striving for perfection is probably the biggest obstacle on the path to sharing our works of art (whether it’s a book, a song, a poem, a painting or a unique approach to a project). How often do you use the phrase it’s not good enough as a reason to hold onto something you’ve created? How often does it won’t be good enough come up as a reason not to start something at all? It’s #MovementMonday and it’s Easter Monday so I decided the build on the theme of ascension . For very practical reasons, hula hooping requires my arms to be elevated above my waist but I always find myself reaching up to the sky and focusing on heaven when I get that hoop spinning! It’s #FunFactsFriday and I thought I’d share two issues I’ve had since childhood . I’ve never liked the word ‘butterfly’ because these wondrous creatures actually FLUTTER BY and the name ‘flutterby’ makes sooooo much more sense! I decided long ago that a mischievous adult must have transposed the letters as a joke so I use the word ‘flutterby’ every chance I get . I’ve always had a hard time with the lyrics for Mr. Sun because the sun never stops shining and we shou...ld really be singing to the clouds who are temporarily blocking our view of the sun .
