This time last year the legendary John Palmer, author of How to Brew, joined us as a special guest at Brew Slam (and had an awesome, very Canadian throne for the weekend). And now he’s joining us again to present during our November meeting this Monday on Zoom! John will be talking about brewing water and taking some questions. We’re also trying something different - this one will be open to all, not just GTA Brews club members. Since we’re capped at 100 for a Zoom meeting, we’ll give our club members the first half hour (7:30-8) to join, and then we’ll post the meeting ID and password at 8 (when John will begin) on our social media accounts so all others can join. Get your water questions ready for John and see you Monday!
We had our October meeting last night on Zoom, and our own Marcelo Paniza gave a great presentation on making hard seltzer at home. He shared some valuable recipe/brewday tips, results from his many fruiting experiments, and fielded lots of questions. A few attendees were even lucky enough to enjoy cans of his black currant and mango/passionfruit seltzers during the meeting. A recording of the presentation is now up on YouTube if you missed it and care to watch! A reminder that our Grain Buy pickup is Oct. 31st at Toronto Brewing Co., more details to come on this.
October meeting is tomorrow (Monday) at 7:30 and we have our own Marcelo Paniza presenting on making hard seltzer at home! This alcoholic beverage is seeing a surge of popularity right now, and homebrewers can make their own with equipment they already have. We’ll also be doing more homebrewery show and tells for the first half hour, see website to signup and for Zoom link.
