Fractured maxillary first premolar. Crown lengthening was not a good option since it would have compromised the C/R ratio of the tooth and the adjacent ones. The tooth was extracted and immediate #straumann #boneleveltapered implant was placed. The buccal jumping distance was grafted using #lifenethealth cortical allograft. Measures We Have Taken To Protect You From COVID-19 In The Dental Office Patient Screening Protocols Before you visit our dental office, we screen patients for any signs of acute respiratory illness, including COVID-19. Please let us know if you have fever, cough, difficulty breathing AND any of the following:... * Do you have fever, cough, or difficulty breathing? OR * Have you returned from travel to any country outside of Canada in the last 14 days? OR * Have you had close contact with a confirmed or probable case of COVID-19? OR * Have you had close contact with a person with fever, cough, or difficulty breathing? We also perform a complete medical history so we know how healthy you are.

Infection Prevention Protocols That Meet RCDSO And Public Health Ontario Standards Infection prevention and control (IPAC) is a critically important part of safe patient care required by the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO) and Public Health Ontario (PHO). It involves rigorous evidence-based practices in the dental office to prevent the spread of diseases. At GTA North Periodontics and Endodontics some of our IPAC protocols include: * Strict adherence to ha...nd hygiene practices before and after seeing dental patient. * Wearing personal protective equipment including eye protection, face masks (such as N95 masks), nitrile gloves, face shields, and gowns. * Sterilizing reusable dental instruments under high heat and pressure, and using disposable dental instruments wherever possible. * Cleaning the dental operatory with hospital-grade disinfectants after every dental patient. * Hand sanitizer and face masks for patients to wear until they are able to see the dentist * Minimizing the number of patients in the waiting room * Patients must be wearing a mask upon arrival * Patients temperature will be tested * Staff's temperature will be tested at the beginning of their shift * Patients are advised to come alone to their appointment unless they need someone to help them or translate for them * Patients will use a 1% - 1.5% hydrogen peroxide oral rinse for 60 seconds prior to examination of the oral cavity, as this may help decrease oral pathogens See more

Our Periodontist Dr. Dina Zahedi joined the practice in August 2019. Dr. Dina Zahedi has demonstrated drive and pursuit for excellence throughout her career. The scope of her practice includes dental implantology, the non-surgical and surgical treatment of periodontal diseases, periodontal tissue regeneration and periodontal soft tissue grafting. Dr. Dina Zahedi obtained her Bachelor of Science (BSc) with honours in Kinesiology from McMaster University. She then completed he...r Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) and specialty certificate in Periodontology from New York University. Dr. Zahedi joined GTA Periodontics in August 2019 and is also a part time clinical instructor at University of Toronto. A special welcome to our newest Endodontist: Dr. Amir Azarpazhooh D.D.S., M.SC., F.R.C.D.(C) (DPH), CERT. ENDO., PH.D., F.R.C.D.(C) (ENDO)... Dr. Amir Azarpazhooh (Dr. Azar) is a certified dental specialist in two fields of Root Canal Therapy as well as Dental Public Health. He received his dental degree from Iran in 2001, his specialty training in Canada at the University of Toronto in Dental Public Health (2007) and Endodontics (2010), followed by his PhD (2011). Dr. Azar has great interest in both academic and clinical research. He is an Associate Professor at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry and Faculty of Medicine. He is also the Head of Endodontics at the Department of Dentistry, Mount Sinai Hospital. Dr. Azar has authored and co-authored over 150 papers and abstracts, 6 book chapters, and has presented at over 50 national and international scientific meetings. A keen practitioner of evidence-based dentistry, Dr. Azar has a passion for collaborative decision making in teaching and in practice. Hence, he approaches patient care with the best interest of the patient in mind. Despite his heavy load of teaching, research and clinical practice, out of the office he enjoys life with his wife, in traveling, cycling, photography, and gardening. As dental offices began to shutdown March 16th at the beginning of the Covid-19 Pandemic, Dr. Azar began working at GTA North Periodontics and Endodontics seeing patients for emergency root canal treatments.

A special welcome to our newest Endodontist: Dr. Avedis Encioiu BSc., D.D.S., FRCD(C) - Endodontist... Dr. Encioiu specializes in root canals. Originally from Toronto, he graduated with distinction from York University with a major in Psychology. In 2008, Dr. Encioiu obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery from The University of Toronto and he specialized in Endodontics at Temple University in Philadelphia. Dr. Encioiu is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, a member of The American Association of Endodontists and an associate instructor in the faculty of Endodontics at The University of Toronto. The author of numerous publications, Dr. Encioiu has presented at major dental conferences including both the American and International Associations of Dental Research. In his spare time, Dr. Encioiu enjoys traveling, sports and the outdoors. Dr. Encioiu has been working since the onset of the Covid-19 crisis, at our clinic. He has been treating patients with emergency root canal treatments.
