Feature Fur-iday: This handsome, 160 pound lap dog is Diesel Diesel’s mom instantly fell in love with his big, squishy face back in 2017. Diesel loves everything about his mom but feels that everything she eats should be shared with him as well. Mom makes up for it by giving him all the love and belly scratches ... Diesel came to us back in September 2020 for a left cranial cruciate ligament rupture and Dr.Kurach preformed a TPLO surgery to correct it. Since then Diesel spends his days recovering in the comfort of his home with his loving mom, but he misses the warm days with endless outdoor play! #vcacares #VCApets #tplorecovery

VCA Canada family members Green Acres Animal Hospital led a community wide initiative to collect donations for the Lethbridge food bank. Together with clients and other veterinary clinics in the area, the Green Acres team raised a ‘mountain’ of food for those in-need in their community. Nice work Green Acres! #VCAFamily

Feature Fur-iday: This smiley boy is Glenn Glenn came to us in August 2020 for a cruciate ligament tear and had TPLO surgery with Dr. Dave Fowler Glenn was adopted by his moms, who are twin sisters, after their first year of University. They realized they needed Glenn in their lives.... When rescued, Glenn had a lot of health problems such as environmental allergies, food sensitivities and his cruciate ligament tear. Luckily Glenn’s moms work at Global pet food company and Glenn gets spoiled with the best food and treats. Glenn was a very sweet boy in hospital with us and his moms let us know he’s also very empathetic. He always knows when someone is having a bad day and will cuddle up to them until they feel better. He spends his recovery days napping but once he’s fully healed he gets to go back to the more active life he lives. #VCAPets #vcacares #tplorecovery

This exceptional girl is furai. Furai has been a long term patient with us, She was first examined by Dr Sereda back in sept 2017 for an anal sac mass. Since then she has gone through 2 mass removal surgeries in which an anal sac adenocarcinoma was found. Furai’s family opted to proceed with chemotherapy treatment to manage the metastasized tumor and is currently still undergoing treatment. ... In her younger years, Furai was an agility dog but now her primary focus is on her recovery! #vcacares #VCAPets #kickingcancersass

Congratulations Libby on finishing chemotherapy and being cancer free! Libby first came to see Dr. Colin Sereda in 2018 because she was lame on her front left leg. Her shoulder and elbow both showed degenerative changes. She had a CT, an MRI, steroid injections and shockwave therapy to help diagnose and improve her lameness. Later on Libby came back to see Dr Lindsey Kurach in June 2020 for suspected right ocular melanoma and draining tracts associated with a previous anal ...sac abscess. She underwent surgery to remove her right eye and her anal glands which were sent away for pathology. Luckily her eye mass was benign and she adjusted very well to only having one eye. Unfortunately her anal gland came back as a type of cancer called adenocarcinoma. She was transferred to the internal medicine department where Dr. Ken Cockwill did an abdominal ultrasound to see if the cancer had spread. Luckily her abdomen was clear and she started chemotherapy July 2020 Libby was adopted from Taiwan by her loving family She loves to spend her days hanging out with her people and going for walks. Libby’s one of the most sweetest German Shepard’s both inside and outside the clinic #VCAPets #vcacares #chemotherapy #fighter
